Hey guys, I'm planning on getting an iPad soon together with Traktor DJ. I already have a Kontrol S2 MK2 and I was watching videos of people using Traktor DJ but they only played with a fixed BPM. So I was wondering if any of you have had any experiences playing a set with mixed genres and BPM? Can you control the individual BPM with the tempo fader on the S2? Is the S2 combined with Traktor DJ limited in any way compared to Traktor Pro 2
Also, can you search for tracks? if so, do you type the name on the screen or can you use an external iPad keyboard?
And can search for tracks of a certain BPM and then sort them by Key?
    Thanks in advance

Quite sure you will love the S2mk2 with TDJ  i own a S4, use it with TDJ only .. will never miss a laptop with TPro. Sure a TPro offers much more, i would love to have 4 decks for example, or the complex TPro effects .. but it is so much more fun with TDJ, so i go for this only meanwhile.

Bpm changes is no problem at all. You can use the pitch fader on S2 for this. TDJ has no pitchfader on iPad, but with S2 it has ;).each fader works similar TPro. Same with jogwheel, you can nudge well (small difference to TPro: with keylock on the jogwheel nudging does not work), but fader work perfect both. I always mix different genres, i love TDJ even more than TPro in this, because the trackbrowser has a great song recommendation. Works great, always nice to mix different genres and try the TDJ !. And if you switch off sync, you have full manual conttol of both decks.

You browse in your songs either with ipad or with S2 browser knobs. I search with touching screen, and enter letters in TDJ (same without controller). I could imagine that also a bluetooth keyboard works, but this i never tested. You can not search and sort same time, but this i never missed.

As you have an S2 already xou should test an iPad .. quite sure you will like it ;)
    Have fun !

Traktor dj is fun I bought an s2 mk2 off the back of it. However as kalo says most features are there but you ll notice sound quality better on my Mac and effects/filters smoother and simply a larger interface, slightly better layout. One thing I’ve posted before on here is fior some reason my iPad is better at best gridding than my Mac pro....go figure. I use my iPad when I’m out after a gig or my Mac if I can store it/take it straight home.

I'm still kinda hesitant because iOS12 is coming soon and it just seems that NI stopped working on Traktor DJ. It's not even mentioned anywhere in the upcoming things :/

But there are iOS usb-port and holes for the iPad stand on the new S2 controller. That means... maybe, some day... they have to update Traktor DJ to support Mixer FX, at least.

I own the S4mk2 and I am waiting for a new version of Traktor DJ on the iPad that supports my 4 channels and allows to manipulate the settings so I can use the other 2 channels for live-input or stems. iPads are now powerful and have lots of memory so there is no need to carry around a laptop. So I really hope that NI is investing into Trantkro DJ, I'd be willing to shell out as much as for the Traktor Software on the ipad as long as the functionality is as is. If NI is not going in that direction, I'll either switch to a pioneer standalone solution with rekordbox or it's going to be algoriddim as soon as reloop comes up with a mixer that allows live-input. But I really hope I can stick with my Traktor S4 and a revamped Trantkro DJ.
