somethings gone wrong with my absynth in logic....

i dont know if it's an absynth problem or logic problem. i'm able to trigger absynth in logic 4.8 just fine, but once i enter the absynth engine it does not work; unless i have the logic sequence playing in the background. i know this isn't normal since i used to be able to trigger and program patches without having to press play on the sequencer. i just downloaded the update, but any advice appreciated....

can someone just tell me this. if i have absynth as a vst plugin in logic and i switch over to the absynth engine; should i be able to play my midi controller and hear something out of absynth?

 

yes, you should. just disable the option "release audio in background, if stopped" on the audio options panel in logic.
