Is anyone successfully using Kontakt with Sonar 4?

    (1) I can't add an envelope to a Sonar track to automate a filter sweep from Kontakt. When I R click the FX Bin of the Kontakt track the necessary "Arm Parameters" option is displayed in grey -- and therefore unavailable.

-- Is there some other way of automating a sweep in Sonar?

    (2) I can't use the letters "R" or "W" when renaming a Kontakt instrument. So "DRUMS" comes out as "DUMS".

-- Anyone else having this problem?

Yes you can probably assign a midi CC to the filter parameter and then program the parameters from Sonar...

Yes same problem here... also the space key is not working... I'm ending with some ugly instruments name :p

I've found out how to do (1) on the Sonar forum :

Right click one of Kontakt's filter controls.

A menu appears with "Automation" at the bottom.

A dialogue let's you select "Host" or "MIDI".

If you select MIDI you can select a MIDI CC number and you can then record MIDI CC data on the track, or create a MIDI CC envelope in the Sonar track which then sends it back to the Kontact control.

I'm having the same problem with Sonar 4 and Kotakt 1.5.3.

My instrument names are all messed up.

Capture keyboard from Host does not solve the problem either.

Very annoying. I hope this can be fixed soon.

I figured out a way around this so the keyboard actually works when naming instruments. Use Knotakt as a VST instead of a DXi. Now it works great.

Sometimes I have found that plugins work better as VST instead of DXi.

From whta i can make of it, i set the CC in absynth or kontakt and then i set the same cc value in sonar. help!
