So i'm having this strange issue where all of the songs loaded on my iPad do not show in traktor or in my music app (only purchases through the App Store are still on the device)

however when I plug my iPad in to my PC and open itunes, all the playlists and my tracks show as still being on the device.

I've restarted the iPad but it's had no effect.

Suggestions? My next step is to delete traktor from the iPad and re-install, just curious if anyone else has or had seen this issue and knows the root underlying cause.

Does not sound like an TDJ issue ... you mentioned that the songs do also not appear in the music app ?? if they are missed in music app also, TDJ can never access and show them. Maybe check your iTunes sync process first. Also check ipad Settings: iPad > Settings > Music > all files shown ?

Are you logged with the correct account and do you have music synchronisation turned on in iTunes for your device?

I did not have syncing turned on at the time for any of my devices ever (I find it to be a rather annoying feature). Both my iPhone and my iPad have that disabled.

What was really weird was that when I would plug my iPad in to my computer and pull up itunes, my playlists with all my music would still show. But would not show on the actual device itself or in TJD

I upgraded to iOS 8.3 and that didn't resolve the issue. So I took the next step and restored all device settings and that still did not resolve the issue. From there, I restored to factory which did resolve the issue.

only to make sure we got it. You have to sync your iOS device with itunes, otherwise you can never access to the songs on iPad. Do not transfer the songs directly to the device (in itunes), means do not drag&drop the songs to the device icon, you must transfer the songs into the itunes mediathek and sync the mediathek to iOS

Sorry to be clear, music syncing is disabled. But I still manually drag and drop from music library to the device

then it will not work ;). As i know, music app in iOS need sync process. Either automatic (which i also don't like) ... or via push sync button in iTunes manually (as I do).
Detail: I use the same process as you described for several iPods, but for the transfer into the music app in iOS you need them in the mediathek on host first (itunes) ...reason: sync process creates unique UUID for each song, the reference for all apps on iOS (sandbox architecture)

Okay so I finally saw it in action again and understand what you're saying now

Hitting the 'sync' button made sure everything was copied over.

    Thanks for the explanation!
