I was never heard of KORE before, but recently I just saw an old video from KVR demonstrating this Sonic Fiction soundpack capabilities. I am impressed. I tried to browse the Komplete product list, and I can't find this product. I searched this forum and found some users did transaction of this soundpack years ago, I also learned about the free KORE player at the discontinued product's special. I have downloaded it, It is magnificent job, I truly thankful for this plugin.

Unfortunately, I can't find the offer for Sonic Fiction soundpack, so if somebody does mind to sell it, please tell me. I would like to purchase it.

    Thank you.
    Lucy.

Hi Lucy, the best thing you can do is buy the full version of Kore 2 second hand on Ebay and make a post on KVR audio marketplace that you're looking for Sonic Fiction. I think Acoustic Refractions is even better, by the way, it's made by the same sound design god :)
Acoustic Refractions was also sold as part of Komplete 7, the last version of Komplete that has koresounds to integrate the included Kontakt and Reaktor instruments and Kontakt 4 and Guitar Rig 4 into the Kore 2 browser.

    Hi, thanks for the reply.
Any idea about finding a legit seller? I've read some occurrences where the hardware is sold but without software or license. After a month of trying, not sure that I've found :(

Btw. if I bought Komplete, can I downgrade to get these Kore soundpacks? Seems there are more amazing presets like Acoustic Refractions and some Drawbar Organs. If I can't downgrade, perhaps I may search for old Komplete 5/7 sale. I think Sonic Fiction contains minimum leads but tons of sfx that is kinda unplayable (I watched an hour long video about a guy reviewing the presets one by one) whereas Acoustic Refractions is playable for leads and ambience. Nevertheless, I also found some cool sci-fi drone and effects advertised in Reaktor. Now I'm confused o_O

Did you post on kvr? Kore 2 owners can get their serial removed from their account and sell it to someone else. Acoustic refractions is only in komplete 7, you cannot downgrade and it was the only koresound pack that was in a komplete bundle. The drawbar organ isn't that good imo. Are you aware that Kore is like a plugin hub? There are some unique effects in it but most of its sound are made with internal versions of Kontakt 2/3/4, GuitarRig 3/4, Absynth 4/5, Massive, FM8 and Reaktor 5.

Nope. Anyway I found a guy at KVR who bumping his Kore FS like for months with 50+ posts now and also a guy who also asked for this soundpack for 250 bucks. The thing is, I'm torn whether should I purchase it or not, given there are no soundpacks available for sale. Also I read on this subforum about various alternatives of Kore.

Anyway, found some Maschine expansion packs for sale, are they similar presets like Kore soundpack? I was disappointed to learn that Komplete user can't downgrade.

Kore 2 was like $400 new. It has been discontinued in June 2011 and is not supported on current Operating Systems. I think I would pay $150 because the combination of being a plugin hub, a preset nester and a brilliant preset librarian with automatable morphing functions is still unique. Camelaudio made a similar browser and morph pad for Alchemy, it was based on Kore but can't host plugins. It's part of Logic X now.
The Koreline Packs were being sold for $50, $70. The Koreline packs are very different, many styles - big band, Indian, electronic fx, sound design, cinematic etc. You need to decide per pack if you need it. If you've got Maschine and like its expansion packs, get those. I don't think Maschine expansion packs work if you don't have Maschine, not sure.

The big band soundpack - called Kontakt Sax & Brass - is one of my favourites. It comes with samples that are in the Kontakt Factory Library, but the settings in Kore trigger Kontakt scripts that make the instruments play different voices. You play chords with the left hand and a melody in the right hand and you get instant bigband harmonizations in different styles. Very impressive.
