    Hi !

..........the operation manual sucks ! No tutorial at all, and nothing at all about using the NI SD as a plug-in ! In the manual they talk about a NI-Spektral Delay Demo folder which is impossible to find. there is not even a quick-start guide !

I am currently testing SD for a French web magazine, and I have been very disappointed so far !

Problems for installation and uninstallation, crappy manual, I hope the piece of software will do the job :eek:/

    Bye

Plug-in use follows the same guidelines as stand-alone: audio in/audio out. What needs to be explained?
The demo samples are the ones listed when you call up a bank(they're at the bottom left of the GUI). There's a browse function there, too.
As far as tutorials go,FFT resynthesis in this context is a new field.Read the explanations under Spectral Analysis/synthesis(pages 70-74 in the English manual)
I use SD every day-it's an essential tool in my work.Maybe somebody who is willing to learn how to use it should be writing the review, and not you.

    Hi !

I don't know yet, but I might use it in the future (I'll probably do, as the software in itself is very powerfull and intersting), but as a reviewer, I have to report all the things that I think are lacking.

Concerning the demo samples, I was talking about what is said on page 24 in the English manual (or page 177 in the French one, as I am French ;op). They say : "In the dialog-box which appears choose the folder NI-SPEKTRAL DELAY DEMO, which was installed in the main NI-SPEKTRAL DELAY folder.....", but there is no NI-SPEKTRAL DELAY DEMO folder, only the SPEKTRAL DELAY one, installing with the program ! Well, I'm quite used to runing such a piece of software, so it's not a big problem, I found the factory presets and the default ones you're talking about. But, they should be carefull when they write a manual, shouldn't they ? ;o)

Anyway, this is a usual problem : DAW software manuals are often written by engineers and not musicians !

    THX for your reply.
    Bye.

Yeah, you're right about the manual-I've seen better. After venting,I went back and read it tonight...does get confusing, doesn't it?
Give it a try and play around with it...I use it nowdays for reverbs, weird delays, panning effects-you name it.Once you get your head around it,it's amazing what the sucker will do!
