I sort by color. Like when I play a song I think of a color and stick it in that crate. Yes it's weird but it works:) I think it has to do with pitch.

I use the star rating to sort by intensity, with 1 star being the songs you'd play first and 4 stars would be the high energy songs you'd play last. 5 stars reserved for the bombs.

I use star rating, but also sort by BPM and import date during a gig when looking for the next track.

I use several ways to sort, but basically it is by genre. I am a greek DJ and I sort everything differently. For regular music: House, dance, and pop (top 40) and by year Dance 2011 House 2011 etc. For Greek music, by some are genre, Greek traditional, Greek pop (100 BPM) Greek club (128 BPM) and also by year. Greek Pop 2009, Greek Pop 2010... etc I use iTunes to organize everything and import it to Traktor.

    wow :)

i often sort by bpm, but i use also my own tags for searching (and finding), like starter, dancefloor, car rider (groovy, but not necessarily good for the club, like, what you want to hear while in a car driving), ...

I find the best way to sort my music is by the following.

After I download or rip a track I make sure my Tags have all the Info I need them to have, which in my case is Artist, Title, Year & Genre.

I then use Platinum Notes if Needed

I then pass them through Mixed In Key to get the key of Track written on the Tags.

Afterward I load them into iTunes, which I have already made Smart Lists for each Genre.

By doing it this way all your tracks are in the same Genre and if you want to organise them by say BPM or Key etc this can all be done inside the smart list.

Well that's the easy and most logical way that I have found to do it, hope this helps.
