I got an Audiophile 192 sound card and a Midi controller - Axiom 49. I also got Guitar rig. What kind of cables and setup should I use to connect all these to my sound card? Connect my Axiom 49 controller with Midi i/o or USB? How should I connect my Guitar so I can play? I also have the footpedal for Guitar Rig 4. Should I connect this to my sound card? How? What cables I need? Can I plug my guitar in to my Pedal, then connect the pedal to the sound card? etc. Im new to all these so im not sure what cables or setup I need for it to all work.

    Thanks

I have an audiophile 192 card too and an Axiom 61 so can possibly help.

I connect the Axiom to the computer via USB, make sure you have the latest drivers -- can download from M-Audio site. This bypasses the inputs on your soundcard so makes life easy.

The guitar won't plug into the soundcard and work properly. I use a Mackie 402-VLZ3, a very small line mixing desk with 2 x mic pre-amps (and phantom power), and two custom High_z guitar line inputs, then take the output jack and plug that to an line input jack on the soundcard. It works very well indeed, both for guitar work and using condenser mic. So I don't need a DI box.

I don't know re your footpedal, I know NI do a special guitar hardware input device that I believe especially provides the guitar connection input, I guess you would route a jack output from this into your sound card jack input.

Read the Manuals! There is so much info on the net these days you should have no problems figuring it out.

    Best of luck.

I don't know if your issue is solved but when you mention you have the footpedal for Guitar Rig, if you mean Rig Kontrol, IT IS A FULL "SOUNDCARD" with a MIDI interface. So with your hardware I would connect the Axiom on a USB port, Rig Kontrol on another USB port, the guitar in a Rig Kontrol input.

From there, in your softwares, you select the correct input for your guitar (Rig Kontrol left or right) and the output in your software can be either the Audiophile or the Rig Kontrol. If you choose the Rig Kontrol, make sure its outputs are connected on some console, amplifiers or the Audiophile line inputs.
