recently upgraded from scratch to pro however when using pro sound quality is very poor. the tracks clip or drop out and are distorted. the cpu jumps all over the place often in the red. my set up is
    hp pavillion dv6000
    windows vista home premium
    amd turion 64x2 1.8ghz
    2046mb ram

    any suggestions?

I am really thinking that Windows user ( Xp or vista ) are experiencing more problems like distortion, calibration errors and sound clipping than Mac user

Actually I am having the same problems- tried several different sound cards & controllers but when the Key Lock is on I have these issues- with the Key Lock off it isn't as bad but Key Lock is important to me.

    yup

Keylock is just a mess in Pro, seems to be related to most problems I have. I switched back to T3.4 now... Desperately waiting for an update though.

Try upping the latency when I run 2.5ms on my MBP and use key lock its goes nuts like you say, but if I put it on 5.5ms its ok again if I put it higher I can do loads of stuff and not have a glitch.

might be a silly question but does ts pro require different timecoded vinyl?

thx a lot for all your replies. I'm using DVS systems since 2002 (FS1, TFS, TS, T3) and I know all the tricks... None of those helped anyway. I know for sure it's a flaw in TSPRO. Maybe some people just dont' (want) to hear some problems with the sound but I do. Sound, especially with Key Lock (I always play with key lock for harmonic mixing) was a lot better with TS/T3.4 !

@KRAK ONE: This also might be another long shot but have you thought about reverting back to 10.5.2?

    solved sound problems

dont know how helpful this will be for other people but this is what i did and its solved any sound problems i had

firstly deactivated user account controls and all windows sounds. then uninstalled tracktor scratch and ts pro. reinstalled ts pro, plus new update and latest driver for audio 8
from ts updates. also disabled wireless/bluetooth. runs perfect now. this was however after many attempts of reinstalling software.

maybe just got to keep uninstalling/reinstalling till its right?
