I'm really new to the Guitar Rig thing, so I don't really have a clue what I'm doing. Basically I cannot get any sound from my Guitar in Guitar Rig 5, except sounds like the Metronome. In the Audio and MIDI Settings my inputs read: Not Connected 1 and Not Connected 2. I have my Guitar plugged into the microphone input on the front of my PC, so is it because Guitar Rig is not meant to be used with the Mic input? I have never found a clear solution to this problem, which is why I came to post here. I have ASIO4ALL Installed, my sound devices seem to be okay from what I can see. I would really like to have this sorted out because I currently don't have a real amplifier as it was sent off to be fixed about 2 years ago and I've never heard of it since. I would not recommend to plug your guitar into a mic input (since as the name already indicates this one is used for connecting microphones).
So connect your guitar to a Line input instead (you might probably have a Line input available on the back of your computer)!

In Guitar Rig, you can select available inputs/outputs by clicking directly on the - Not Connected - labels.

General info about setting up and troubleshooting ASIO4ALL can be found here: https://www.image-line.com/support/FLHelp/html/envsettings_asio4all.htm

Or instead of ASIO4ALL, use WASAPI as Audio Driver instead ...

As a side note: in general, it might also be worth considering to invest in a little external audio interface which has a (HI-Z) Line Input for guitars.

Sorry for the wait, I was hit with Ophelia and lost the internet up until now.

I eventually found the line input (after first learning what a line input is, lol) and switched it on in the ASIO config. It works perfectly now. I can see why mic is a bad idea now, since there's a lot of static that becomes ridiculously loud with distortion.

Thanks for your help, I'm really happy I got this problem sorted.

I have your same problem (my Asio config looks exactly like the screenshots you provided) but I have no Line input to plug my guitar into as I use a laptop wich only has a mic input. Can someone provide another solution? I never had a problem using the mic input before with previous laptops (I'm on windows 10)
Edit: I forgot to add that when I click on the Not connected labels no other options show up

Click on the [ASIO Config] button in the Audio Peferences (shown in the second screenshot above) to open the ASIO4ALL Control Panel and check the settings there (if all necessary in/outputs are enabled, etc.).

If you haven't already, see post #2 for more info:
