Does anyone here have a problem with sound when sampling using Soundflower?

Im getting a crazy chainsaw noise :D (digital chainsaw) when i mess around editing the sample/loop. It records fine and plays back fine, but after 10 mins of adjusting the sample the noise kicks in. As soon as i disable soundflower the noise stops. When i restart SF it works again...

    Anyone else getting this?

Thought i would check with you maschine users before i hit up soundflower or apogee

Might you have created a feedback loop?

I'm getting the same issue using the Apogee One. when I record from the web, playback sounds doubled up and buzzy as well. I haven't tried it without One yet, because Soundflower isn't that important to my workflow yet. If you find any solutions to the noise, keep me in the know. I'll do the same

same here, using a duet and sf. it seems to be some type of buffer problem. i really noticed it when i had more than one audio source going at one time. i still haven't found an easier and more efficient way of sampling from the computer though...

what about from the apogee headphone port into the line in?

On another note, i had to contact apogee regarding a slight clicking noise when i am using my macbook pro for general use ie safari and itunes, they replied to me, only just within a week and told me to try a different firewire cable and sample rate to see if it stops. I tried there methods and yet it still performs with random clicking noises. When i emailed them back regarding a replacement as this duet is only 3 weeks old (bought from guitar centre) they told me because im from london and i bought it in LA it is not covered by there warranty and i would have to contact there main uk distributor and "PAY" for a service on the audio device.

Obviously i am not happy with the overall performance of the duet nor am i impressed at all by there warranty terms. If anyone here plans on buying a apogee product choose wisely and carefully before you part with over $500

I contacted them again asking if it is normal practice for a company of this scale to only offer a chargeable service for a 3 week old product and that i actually reported the problem when it was just 13 days old and that i would prefer a replacement.

I also have all receipts and paperwork and so its not as if i have no proof of purchase.

Its been two weeks since that email and yet i still have not received any reply. What a wonderful service and company.

I've tried just about every configuration. regarding using the line out from the duet, it causes extra "noise" in the sampled material, depending on the input gain level.

i noticed that clicking noise too, but i figured it was some sort of "initialization" of the channel. if you configure the duet using the maestro software, you will notice the "clicking" sound when turning the channels all the way down. it's as if they are "clicking" off/on, so i think.

might go with m36 here. the 10 minutes would make me suspicious. Or does it kick in suddenly (rather than gradually?)

for me, i've experienced it in gradual intervals. how fast depends how much audio is being processed at the time. if i notice the "buzz" in the audio, i click the sf icon and all is well. just a minor nuisance...

Yea i get the "normal" clicking when it first powers or when i change sample rate, but i have a additional "click" noise when im using my mac, that isn't normal. :S

I've had problems using the Duet with Soundflower and Jack as well. Tried lots of things - different DAWs, computers et cetera. It works for a while then goes haywire. No problems for me with the Duet once Soundflower/Jack is removed.
