One of the cool things that has saved me time is sounds.com having the root notes for drums. :)
I would like Sounds.com to add a preset section for some of NI's instruments ex massive, form.

I would love to try it, but I live in Europe and Sounds.com is currently only available in the US.
They seem to ignore the question about when it will be available outside the US, I already asked several times on Facebook and Twitter but still no answer.

The UI needs serious improvement for browsing. Compared to noiiz, it's pretty much useless.

It is strange that a company that calls itself the largest of EUROPA can not offer this at the same time in Europe. But you can just create a free account and try the free samples.

Haha, nope! I have requested it though, as I would love to be able to give out some PRO accounts (would be a nice added price in our monthly Beat Battles here), but so far no luck yet :)

Skins you really need to turn up 9am tomorrow... Berlin.. and volunteer to work for NI marketing dept. Maybe pay them to do so.

Give the Pro account to Skins I suggest.

It's 10 dollars a month in the US. I gave up my Netflix subscription for it. Totally worth it. I do a lot of resampling on my EPS at a lower frequency and I also filter loops with my rodec restyler. I haven't even sliced loops up on the octatrack, ut plan to this weekend.

Guys why is the root nite important on the drums?

I think the samples are very high quality. I like that the drums have root notes. Since you sample check out the opera sample pack on sounds.com.

I love Maschine expansions but I’m far too lazy to get single samples from here and tag them/import them for Maschine. Plus I kind of have to hear something in the track to know I want it, I don’t see myself getting sounds just from listening to them solo.

Don't be fooled Skins... When acoustic drum sounds have root notes it's because they are part of a construction kit in that specific root note, probably because files are group tagged, so the drums are tagged along with the loops.

The only way drums can be on the key is if they are tuned, which can happen for synthetic kits, for example, 808's and such but I see untuned acoustic drum hits there with key signatures... that's not a thing.

Some producers do layer a bass synth sound (usually for sub-bass) on top of the kick in the key of the current song but I seriously doubt that's done for all those drums sounds, I think key signature should be removed from drum and percussion samples.

I'm sure it will be integrated into Maschine at some point.

How do you check exactly? And are they in the key they say they are?
I doubt it, I dont see drummers tunning their drumkit live to match each song's key... By nature percussion is not technically 'in key', it can be done but wont sound very natural since kicks tend to have pitch oscillation. Unless you're talking about electronic drums sounds, 808's, 909's etc..

Oh.. that's different, an 808 kick is basically a synth patch, it contains an actual note, therefore need to be tuned.
I was talking about all the acoustic drum sounds that have key signature info in sounds.com.

I tested a couple of sounds and some are incorrectly tagged, for example, this 808 is supposed to be a G, yet it's a slightly off-tuned C. Like i assumed i think the "Key" related to the key of the construction kit as a whole, not the individual one-shots.
