I realized that in Logic, when I bus my sounds out of Battery 3 to an aux track they become noticeably louder, maybe by a couple dB even. They are not doubling in sound from battery as well as the aux, which was the only reason i could possibly think of for the increase in sound. Any ideas on what the issue might be?

I think you'll find that Battery's master output is set to -6dB (in the upper RH corner). When you choose a separate o/p for one of your sounds, it's output at 0dB, ie louder. To avoid this problem, when you've loaded a kit, check that the master o/p is at 0dB (sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't). Then when you use separate o/ps, the sound will be at the same level.
