I do, mainly Salsa. I also do bachata, merengue, chacha and reggaeton. BPMs will be OK most of the time for bachata, merengue, and reggaeton. Unfortunately that would not be the case for Salsa.......Salsa is too syncopated and most of them start at one tempo and finishes at another. I've been using Traktor scratch and TSP for 2 years and I'm very happy.

    Hope this helps!

Do you use the phase meter for salsa?

Salsa varies too much in tempo to be properly gridded, hence the phase meter (and sync) are totally useless. I usually have to go oldschool and mix exclusively by ear when playing salsa.

under pop I mean also flamenco fusion, chill, pseudo - etc, etc whatever the names are (real flamenco is too complex). Some contemporary cheapo pseudo Salsa popish productions are done to click so also easily beatgrid.
"Spanish music",makes me think more of Manuel de Falla, Sor, Albeniz or Rodrigo but I guess that is not what you are asking, rather what is mostly known as latin, or you mean Julio Iglesias ?
Salsa is easy just get the clave going inside you, "amplify" it in your head or even hum and match to it better then any computer will ever do

nobody will solve it for you all above music styles are quick to fix, just few seconds:
    1.adjust the "one"
    2. tap the tempo(if necessary)
    3.done,
    4.go to next song....
There is no software that can guess musicians intention - accented on or off beat.
How a hell would any software ever know that it is atempo timbales break before the song starts, and/or how long is the silence after that.
The autodetections work only with very primitive beats, anything else needs some attention, mostly minimal adjustments.
if you want shortcut, - put marker on the first beats of those songs

I have been doing three things with 200+ gig salsa collection:

Whenever I load up music I replace all accented spanish characters with plain english letters - I had to do this because the earlier versions of Traktor had trouble with these and would replace them with symbol characters, etc. I believe that is not a problem anymore? Makes searching easier as well.

I use the Load marker a lot to remove unusable intros from tracks, also other cue points for different entries into the track,

Use cruise autoplay often (temporarily) to give me more time to search for requests or just other suitable songs. I am waiting for the improvements to that feature hopefully implemented in 1.2.

Salsa dancers are usually more turned on by the right track for the mood of the floor than any fancy mixing tricks - where I play anyway

to aviary: uhhhhhhhh its not that simple the tempos in the songs vary and the

beatgrid is only one tempo so they cant be gridded.
