Spektral Delay freezes system

I have d'loaded the demo of Spektral Delay and installed it on two different computers, one running WinXP Pro and one running Win2000 Pro. On both systems the the demo launches and plays the tinkly sounds like (I guess) it's supposed to. But if I try to click on ANYTHING the whole system freezes and CTRL-ALT-DLT won't brimg up the task manager, even in XP. I have to do a hard reboot, and then I launched the prog again. Did this several times, always clicking on something different each time, but the result is always the same - total freeze of everything in the system on either computer.

Any help with this would be appreciated. Can't possibly consider purchasing the retail unless I can get this resolved and apparently NI won't give tech support on demo products.

 

Hello. I know that it has been a month since you posted, but I thought that it was worth replying anyway. Try re-installing the Spektral Delay demo. That's how I got it to stop locking up on my Laptop - WINXPpro. Out of curiousity, are you using an Echo audio interface?

Thats an old bug in the 1.0 version that is fixed in 1.5. The workaround in 1.0 is to modify the process priority after the start. To do this, start Spektral Delay, open the Window Task-Manager, go to the Processes Tab, search Spektral Delay.exe here and right-click to open the context-menue. The latest entry should call somethink like "set priority" (i have here a german version of xp, so i don't know the english text), you must lower this to normal. This must be done after every start of the Spektral Delay, but i assure you that this is fixed in 1.5.
