Can anyone suggest why my Spektral Delay (part of Komplete 2) will not work in FLStudio 4.52 - no sonnograms/no sound, and yet works fine in CMuzys, working from the same 'VSTs Shared' folder? The problem being that I don't use CMuzys other than for testing VSTs. As the Fruity DXi wrapper doesn't work properly with Vokator (won't expand fully), the long - awaited DXi of Spektral may not solve my problem(s). Anyone got any ideas?

    Hi,

I got the same problem with FL Studio. I guess they didn't test the program properly. If anyone has a solution I would appreciate it.

Hi, Since I posted the thread above I have updated my soundcard software (driver, update patch), and lo and behold, SPEKTRAL now works fine - no problems. My soundcard is an EMU - 1212M, by the way. Could yours be the same? My VOKATOR VST still won't work tho'. Perhaps it may be as simple to fix this - if only I knew why it isn't working. Anyone got any ideas or suggestions. I hope this bit of info may have helped in isolating your problem. Please let me know if you get it sorted out.

Thanks for the reply, but unfortunately I use a different soundcard than you (Audiophile 2496), so it didn't help even after I updated the driver to the newest release (June 2004). My Vokator works perfectly though, so I guess we can't help each other.

I will get back to you if I work it out.

I solved my problem now and perhaps also yours. I found that if changed the settings of bands in Spektral Delay from 512 to 256, then I wouldn't get that crackling sound. Apparently it was to much to take for the soundcard. Anyway, if you do the same in Vokator, your problems might be solved.

I'm running with a much older version of Fruity (3.56) but I get the same problem sporadicly, and also dissapearing knobs, both problems seem to emerge totaly at random.

I think I may have cracked it. In my last post I said that updating my audio card's software/drivers had fixed my problem. I have since found out that this is only half of the story. What had actualy happened is that during the updating, my soundcard's latency in FL had been raised to 20ms. When I reduced it again to my usual 3ms - no sonnograms/no sound. By experiment I have found that at 6/7ms I have to reduce the number of bands in Spektral to get an undistorted sound - anything above that seems to work fine at any setting. Once again I hope that this offers a solution to the problem (fingers crossed). If anyone out there has Komplete 2/Vokator VST working with TWO LIVE inputs, could they please give me details of their system and how they have it set up? Ta PB

The 'workaround' for the dissapearing knobs is to assign a midi-controller (internal or external) to the missing control - Browser/current project/effects/Spektral right-click missing control/assign midi control. This will give you control over the missing function right away, and when you save and re-open the project, you should find the missing knob returned in all it's glory. I hope this works for you.
