What's up everyone. I'll keep this short and sweet. I just got a Maschine Mikro MKii for Christmas and my dumb ass knocked a beer over and it got on the maschine. Now pad 4 is completely unresponsive and randomly triggers if I hit other pads. I sent a message to NI but I think it's a safe assumption that beer spills aren't covered under the warranty. Has anyone had similar repairs done and if so what did it cost? Should I try and fix it myself? Or should I just buy a full size MK 1 maschine on the used market? Thanks for the insight in advance!

Wait until you speak to NI before you pull it apart. It may well be cleanable.

I havent pulled mine apart before but im sure they're fairly simple inside, pads, triggers, encoders, buttons, LCD screens and PCB's with lots of chips. Search YT for strip down videos. Theres quite a few people doing these sort of vids, one guy does a few synths too

Damn man, that's a bummer. There's a white Mikro MK2 on eBay, being sold "for parts" seemingly because there's no license along with it, for $145. You could easily take the pad pcb out of there and put it in yours.

I would see if NI will give you a repair quote though, might very well be half that price and won't void your warranty. If it's too expensive though, open yours and clean it with isopropyl alcohol before spending money on any other options.

I doubt NI will repair on warranty due to the nature of the defect but, you never know.. Maybe someone responsible for issuing an authorization will feel compelled to dodge protocol and help you out 'cause they're in an amazing mood or something. :D Good luck!
