    Hello mates...

Is it possible to split the output of Deck A to Channel L and Deck B to Channel R or something like this?

This way is possible to use an external mixer without needs of a soundcard.

    Welcome.

Not in the current version. Hopefully in a coming version.

However, there is a workaround for this using a splitter cable.

    Enable Split Output mode.
Deck A - Assign the crossfader over to deck A - Outputs through master out on the splitter
Deck B - Permanently engage Headphone Cue - Outputs through headphone output on the splitter.

This gives you 2 channels of double mono to connect to 2 channels on your DJ mixer.

Works just fine if you are happy to use a splitter cable (actually sounds pretty good to my ears although people will tell you that it's rubbish;)

Please note: With this mode the Deck Letter on deck B will not flash (to show it is in playback) because the Traktor DJ assumes that the deck is not "On Air" because the crossfader is assigned to Deck A.

    Good... Its a way...

The Traktor DJ looks like a promising powerfull weapon... But without an external mixe r fuction... it is limited to a car/room dj tool.

Im wondering way Native dindt release the product with this function.. As we can do it with a simple workaround trick.

Ive tried with my DJ GRiffin Cable and it works fine. Sounds good to my ears too.

Dreaming with a CUE button, External Mixer option and a hold and slide loop button (up to X and down to /)...

I wondered the same thing. Seems like an obvious feature to implement.

Exactly what I use and exactly what I think.

I have also used an iRig Mix which is a glorified splitter but has volume faders and a crossfader and that also sounded pretty good and solved my issue of finding it a bit fiddly having the crossfader/volume faders/play buttons all on the same side of the iPad.

I am a human with 2 hands and the iPad works best with 2 hands, one on each side.:D

How are you connecting to the iRig? Are you using the griffin splitter with the iRig?

No im just using the cable included with the iRig.

The problem is that I still have to do the workaround that I mentioned above to get it to work properly. The iRig works fine with their own iPad app but the app is less that good so I haven't worked out yet quite why Traktor DJ needs this workaround but im guessing that its down to the use of a TRRS cable rather than TRS.

Using the workaround the iRid Mix is actually pretty good. Shock horror, I can hear people screaming No No it has to be rubbish but, yeah it's plastic and is a glorified splitter cable but I have had some fun with it.
The sound quality is just like using the Griffin cable. The headphone output is very loud and the EQ's work.
It wouldn't take much force to pull a knob or fader off but for less than the price of a crappy soundcard you get full control over volume faders, crossfader, cue, master and gain.

I got one on trial from a local store and I think I'm gonna buy it cus it works and it's fun and until a cheaper soundcard that charges the iPad comes along it will do.

The splitter is working in principle for me but I'm running the main output into a set of powered Yamaha monitors and the cue is bleeding into one side of the main out. Anyone else having this issue? I've tried two sets of splitters and I know the split works software side as the divide is perfect when testing directly into earphones.

    Weird.

    Welcome To The Forum.

Which splitter cable have you got.

Also had this issue with a rubbish cable that I sent back.

This bleed is also present when using the iRig Mix but its only subtle.

    The Griffin works perfectly.

You need to assign the crossfader over to the Deck that you wish to hear through the speakers.
The splitter sends the master down the right hand side so both decks can output via the master output.

The Cue is sent down the left so you only hear the cued tracks when cus is engaged.

This should work as expected with the Griffin.

I bet Griffin have sold 1000's of these cables since the release of Traktor DJ.

    Not there yet...

    Cheers for the reply Karlos

I had tried a Belkin and then (as it was the only place I could physically get one from) Maplin (the shame of it).

Off your recommendation though I just ordered the Griffin splitter... we'll see how that goes. I'l update here either way.

You feel a bit dirty after going there don't ya..?
It's just that they have what you want on the high street but it's always twice the price of anywhere else.

I'm lucky as I live about 2 miles away from CPC.
That's where I buy everything electrical, audio cables, gaffa, I even bought my door bell from them:)

Twice the price, half the quality! Shame as they used to be great.

Should get the cable today! More excited than I should be really considering I already have a pretty good set up. Just love the idea of doing it on an ipad. It would be good to be able to use Apple TV as audio out so I can walk around mixing like a showboater ;)

Got the griffin cable through today... Works a charm! Cost me best part of 40 quid to get there though almost three times the cost of the software! Cheers for the advice Karlos.

How come it cost so much, where do you live Mars ;)

It's £11 at CPC in UK and I'm pretty sure you can get them cheap on Amazon or ebay.

Lol... No I meant money spent in total trying various cables before the Griffin. Suppose I could take them back. :) probably won't too busy playing with Traktor. Going to play out with it today...

Ah yeah I get ya. I bought one from Germany that came with a bunch of cables and neat little carry case.

It was pile of crap and I sent them a video of it crackling and bleeding over channels. I told them I was sending it back for a refund so they just sent me another one. That was rubbish as well so I sent the whole lot back and demanded a refund on the splitters and the postage.

They gave me all the money back and an apology which was fair enough but it took around 3 weeks.

Went to CPC got the Griffin and kicked myself for not getting it in the first place.

    Live and learn (sometimes).

I'm guessing based on this and other threads, there is no way to monitor and play master in stereo at the same time, no matter what solution - splitter cable or sound card?

Yeah using a soundcard such as the Audio 6 gives you full stereo master and cue outputs.

I'm confused, are you agreeing with me that there is no way to do this or saying you can master and cue in stereo with an interface which supports multiple stereo chanells? Saddly I have discovered the Roland Duo Capture EX can't even cue on Traktor Pro on my Mac -so I'll be giving it away and buying another card to use with my mac and iPad)

    TY

I have to ty Mr. Santos. This thread was very helpful. I recently purchased an iPad and then the Traktor DJ app. After playing around with it for awhile i wanted to explore the split output option. I went out and bought a iRig. I was scratching my head trying to figure out how to get it to work until I came across this forum. Thank you very much. I'm a fan of NI and have a few of your products. I am happy to see you have a forum to discuss such issues.. Again thanks.
