Slussen works perfectly as a splitter.

    slussen

Don't understand the obsession with external mixers though. Once you get the hang of multitouch filters and effects you're off to the races.

    That is very cool.

I understand it. I like the feel of a real fader. It somehow gives me more confidence when Im prelistening to know that the crossfader is over.
I have no probs with multitouch, I just like the option of a small hardware mixer.

One thing I've discovered with TDJ is that one you've touched and held the fader, you can move your hand away and your are still in control of it, so you can make larger motions and also see the travel of the fader. This mitigates the lack of tactile feedback you get from a hardware mixer.

Generally I prefer hardware controls myself, but TDJ is the first touch music app I find myself comfortable with.

    thanks!

I got one of the Slussen/Urbanears splitters today - works well and sounds OK.
For someone who once bought a car because it was red before he knew what make and model it was, it has one obvious advantage over the Griffin one ;)

Just to clarify: is this splitting option available now or still not? Thank you!

External mixing is in the app now. Your soundcard needs 4 outputs (2 stereo pairs).

I mean through the headphone jack Karlos. This would allow to connect the iPad to the external mixer without a soundcard, although it would remain as a mono-output.

Btw another question: Traktor DJ allows to route the audio through A6/A10, but can you route audio on other soundcards? I was interested on the Apogee Duet 2.

    Thank you for the responses!

The headphone output has always worked. You can use a splitter cable to separate the channels with a work around but you cannot split the headphone output in stereo at all. This is just the way the jack works.

To connect to an external mixer for split channels you need to assign one deck to Master and have the heaphone cue on the other deck. You then put the crossfader fully over to the Master deck.
Connnect the splitter cable to 2 channels on your mixer and the Deck A (Master) will play through one channel and Deck B (Cue) will play on the other channel.

The headphone jack output only works as a dedicated cue if you connect a soundcard with 2 stereo channels, the iPad output is assigned to one of the pairs.
This will change in an upcoming version and you will be able to use a cheap single stereo soundcard for master output and use the headphone jack for the monitor output.

The Apogee Duet 2 will work perfectly. Note that the Duet 2 will NOT charge the iPad, only the new Duet 2 (iPad version) will charge the iPad.

I was under the impression, and even tried testing a current (as opposed to new this year) Apogee Duet 2 and it would not work. Wonder what we did wrong? Ended up with NI A6 and quite happy with that.

Wow that sucks, I stand corrected, thanks for the info dude.
Yeah the A6 is great plus you get the option for timecode should you ever need it.

The Duets are so expensive as well. Lovely, but way expensive.

I think i'm going to get the A6, the only thing is the charging issue.. But let's see if it can be solved in the near future with a cable or so! Thanks for the info!

    Karlos & others,
Hav any of u experienced a track sync glitch with this splitter cable double mono?
The channel I select for the headphone out channel is jumping out of sync lock when I play the master channel track ?
Weird....Neva happens during usual play...only with the split audio :(
