I know that many may just say meh to this, but I'm actually paying €9 per month to get access to premium playback, so why not add offline spotify lists directly into Traktor Pro? The reason why I say this is because I'd really love to be as legit as possible. You got Itunes added, so I can't see any reason why not this can be added as well.

I actually spoke to a guy from Spotify about this and the issue is the same as with iTunes. Playing tracks for commercial breaches copyright.

You do know that iTunes downloads are not 'supposed' to be used for commercial means. It is actually against the iTunes T&C's to DJ with iTunes purchases. Not a grey area, strictly against the iTunes agreement. How many people actually take heed of this is another matter.

I can fully understand the dilema when it comes to Itunes, from which I actually buy most of my music. The thing is that I also pay for a premium account on Spotify. If there where a Premium DJ account for say $99 / month then I's dather use that. Now I'm far from a professional DJ, so me playing commercially is highly unlikely.

Most clubs pay a fee for the rights to play music. This gives them the ability to play the radio or whatever. It shouldn't matter if you play through Spotify or downloaded iTunes tracks. I think its a great idea only because I organize my music mostly through iTunes because of the ease of having it accessible on my phone and work laptop so I can organize as I listen. Doing that within crates is difficult to make time for. I now use Spotify to stream through my home sound system and it would make sense if I could organize tracks on the go and add them to crates for playing in clubs as well. If you don't embrace the progression of digital DJing you will be left behind. Its just a fact of the industry.
