stability problem mac mbp with machine mk2

I still have pretty heavy stability problems with maschine mk2 on my MBP (2013, os 10.13.2) eg when using the machine mac application. my midi/audio device motu ultralite mk4 would stop working/Machine stops working.
I have all latest software installed (via native access), maschine mac device updater and the motu device.
The typical behavior is that a preset beat would start and when I start playing to it (not even recording) on the keyboard (even with midi disabled) the maschine track would stop, maybe stammer 2-3 times and then stop working. the maschine app seems to be frozen for these moments, too (motu discovery symbol on mac indicates that the motu device is not connected anymore). Only a restart of the MBP helps. (restarting the ultralite does not help)
I have set the audio settings to 48k and to 256 buffer size; I believe this is what Native recommends on this site somewhere.

Any idea where I can fix this?

I had to uninstall all Motu drivers (I had received detailed instructions from the motu support) and since then stability has greatly improved for me (so far)
