Have the 21" iMac in the studio, but need a macbook for the road. You guys using the standard 13" 2.26GHz 2Gb RAM version for Traktor pro ok?

Wait a few more weeks for Apple's new product releases. You will get a better laptop for the same price as the one you are looking at.

For a year now, without problems. I did upgrade the memory to 4GB when I bought it, though, but I don't think the "extra 2GB" has ever been actually needed for gigs. I use the timecode control, keylock is always on, but usually only two of the decks (mainly because the 13" only has screen resolution of 1280x800, which is a bit small if I want to have all the four decks visible at the same time). I don't use the inbuilt effects excessively, but when I do, there has been no problems.

Dude are they updating the Macs ? I was told by an Apple employee that its just the new Tablet Mac thats coming out ?

The current Macbook is near the end of its cycle (changes every 200 days approx) so i guess it is time.

@ keithandjude - the Mac you quoted will be more than sufficient to run Pro. Upgrade to 4 gig Ram and your sweet.

From what I was able to gather is that the tablet is supposed to replace the standard macbook.

But it's always good to wait and see.

Cheers Guys, my studio 21" Mac has 2.66 / 2Gb Ram & copes admirably with Traktor Pro. Do I need 4Gb ram in a Macbook?

No you dont need it. My old MBP copes fine with 3gb but thats because it only takes 3.
It was fine with 2gb but as you should really upgrade RAM in equal amount (2 in each slot) and also RAM is cheap you may as well upgrade to 4gb and the laptop will run Pro really well.
