Does it need a separate control for hold or similar?

Can I assign another control to those channels for extra.. eh hmm "hold" ?:S Can't figure out what type of control.

Yep check your mixer settings for internal / external and at each check look at your output routings. Missing assignments will cause this.

I've had several people send me email asking about how to make Da Scratch work with TPRO and the standard presets. Bottom line is, map it My current preset I'm nearly done with provides 4 deck functionality using the Traktor 3 Dual deck da Router preset. There are one or two gotchyas but I can do pretty much everything in Traktor Pro that I could in T3.

If you don't want to map it yourself then you'll be waiting for someone else to do it. Getting all pissy about having to wait (like one guy did overnight) smacks of "little red hen" syndrome, as is pretty bloody selfish. <rant='off'/>

Phil: I havent even got the dascratch attached when the music doesnt play. there is no control, with the mouse. All the buttons works and everything, its just the waveform part of the display. This is from a fresh install of the demo. When its installed, i've set the sound card, mixer set to internal, but there is no control, you cant drag the wave, play button lights up, but it doesnt move.

Loop / Jump Prototype Setting to test

Ive built a new prototype for loops and Jumps that I would be very grateful if people could try out and send me feedback on. The .TSI sample file is attached and contains ONLY the prototype controls. It was created using a 2 SCS3.d but I have tested it in single controller mode too, with one assignment change.

To use the preset you need to put your controller in Loop Mode using button B3. I've attached a button map image to this message. You'll also want to grab the control map I posted too for the control surface button assignments.

Loop puts the touch surface into button mode, the list of Button numbers for the mode is in the Da Router control map message I posted in the thread http://www.native-instruments.com/forum/showpost.php?p=450228&postcount=19

First thing to know is that TAP [B10] on both controllers is used as a modifier. On the left controller or single controller it produces D#8 Ch8 on the right controller it produces D#8 Ch9.
If you are using a single controller to test change the assignment for the second Modifier # 1 message Value=2 to another button like B14 [Note B1 ch8], leave the value as 2.

OK so the idea behind this prototype is to get all the basic loop and beat jumping actions onto the control surface, The struggle is to not overload the control operations too much. I've tried to keep like operations on the same modifiers.

so far its setup to work with either A or B focus deck.

Pressing any of the touch surface buttons does the following when loop mode is selected.
    • Makes the Advanced Panel Visible
    • Selects the Move Panel
    • Pressing B1 or B2 on the touch surface makes Loop Mode Active
    • Pressing B3 or B4 on the touch surface makes BeatJump Mode Active

    In Loop Mode:

    • Pressing B5 sets a loop of the specified size and makes it active.
    • Press and hold Tap and press B5 on the left controller when a loop is stores the loop and adds it as the next available hotcue. If no loop is set a Cue is added instead.
    • Press and hold Tap on the right controller or remapped button and press B5 on the left controller deletes the stored loop or Active Cue.

    Loop operations
    • Pressing B1 or B2 moves the current active loop forward or backward by the size defined in the Move Loop Size advanced panel.
    • Press and hold Left Tap and press B1 or B2 changes the loop size. B1=smaller/B2=bigger. If a loop is active it is resized instantly. If the loop is not active only the loop size is changed.
    • Press and hold right Tap and press B1 or B2 Changes the loop move size.

    BeatJump Operations

Pressing B3 or B4 will Beatjump forward or backward by the indicated jump size. You should also note that if any loop operation was the last to be performed then the mode changes to beatjump when B3 or B4 are pressed.
Press and hold left Tap and press B3 or 4 changes the Beatjump size.

Not implemented yet is the following - Want feedback on this
Press and hold right Tap and press B3 or 4 will jump to prev or next cue / hotcue

So, try it out, tell me what you think.

Yeah I'm talking soundcard settings and sound output routing. Check Audio setup and Output routing. Also click in the down arrows below the deck letters and make sure that internal playback is selected. That should fix ya up. ;)
Usually this occurs if you have using and external mixer setup and have changed to an internal soundcard without changing the mixer mode back to internal and setting up the proper outputs in routing, or the wrong mixer mode is selected.

Da Scratch Preset 001 - Global & Transport

Attached is the first part of my 4 Deck Preset for Traktor Pro and dual daScratch units.

I am having problems integrating the Loop and EQ sections so rather than delay furthe I'll post this, so you may try it out.
The Preset uses the Traktor3 da Router dual preset. It will work with a single unit but some functions may not be available due to the right tap button not being available. I'll post up the control map tomorrow.

Thanks a lot Phil! you da man!
I was only able to check out your mapping for a few minutes yesterday but I was strugging with assigning and recalling que points. Maybe it was just my mistake but I will give it more time and will get back to you. Thanks again!

    PHIL !
i tested your files and i'd love to just add the SUB VINYL MENU TO MY Da Router Preset and also leds feedback for any button, is there any way that you tell me how to do it ? i think the best thing that stanton can do is release a file for da router enabling led blue/red seperate feedback and Modes Buttons midi signals, so we will be able to use them ourself as modifiers and make them glow red/blue/purple, as you started to do... sure it can be done with bome translator but i'm unable to open files and i don't want to start my mapping from zero :(
i also noticed that because the scs don't receive outputs on his leds from traktor, i got bugs on the gain leds sometimes...
    edit:
    revision 2:
added loop and fx on/off in EQ, Loop & Trig Mode
added monitor controls and pitch bend, see post upstairs
    revision 3:
    some bugs fixed

    LEDs on DaScratch

Does anyone know if there is a way to control the LEDs on this unit using the Midi out and the output (LED) in the midi learn? I want those 4 corner buttons around the wheel the stay either blue or red when I use those buttons as a toggle. I can't figure it out or is it something that needs to be done through the DeRouter?

I think it needs to be done in DaRouter, but i'll have a play over the weekend. I've not been very active for the past couple of weeks on anything music, but plan to get very busy over the festive period!

Jim: I'm still interested in persuing the functions i've mentioned, but have been busy. Hoping to get back upto speed on everything over the next month
