    Hi all!

I bought my controller today - nice little thing...

I tried the presets here in this forum - but i think i will make my own - cause i don't need lots of function added in the presets here.

The only things i wanna use is Beatjump, Loop and FX and Browsing/Loading....but no scratching an deck control.

check my post on my blogsite for my own SCS.3d TSI file which is for a complimentary controller that any DVS users may want to try out that need those extra controls for navigation, fx, loops etc..even 'scratch your FX'.

Notes on this TSI Config -
    - With ‘Vinyl’ enabled you can control your Filter on focus deck with outer jog wheel (no need to turn filter on or off as it automatically turns on and off with reset when you touch and let go)
    - With ‘Vinyl’ enabled you can scratch in a selected effect from the advanced FX Unit 1 whilst modifying it with the Gain and Pitch sliders.
    - With ‘Deck’ enabled you can scroll through your track playlist with the outer jog wheel. When you do this the view automatically flicks to full browser mode then once you load a track to either deck it reverts back to normal view.
    - With ‘Loop’ enabled you can set loops and sizes on the fly plus save, store and delete cue points.
    - With ‘FX’ enabled you control the second FX Unit 2 with 3 pre-selected fx. Do not worry about turning each one on, just move the faders with your finger and they will automatically turn on and off due to macro programming.

Here is the link to the "official" Traktor Pro Alpha build from the stanton forums.

    http://forums.stantondj.com/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=60

Its only an alpha version. The following is a heads up from them:

    Hey guys,

Scott just got done with the alpha build of the Traktor Pro preset and it's kind of a sweet and sour thing. The sweet is that it's a sick preset. It has the functionality of the V2 Traktor 3.4 presets, but adds alot of new Pro only features. The sour is that on load, it will throw a ton of errors in DaRouter (they will all pop in one window and tell you that the error queue is full). When you close this error window, it will not pop up again, but it will drop messages and feedback until it finally crashes. We are currently working to determine the cause of the error. If you're a MIDI Translator user, this preset is better behaved. The best way to get longer term performance from it is to open BMT, load a different preset, open Traktor Pro, then open the TPro preset in BMT (you have to sneak up on it).

We wanted to release this and let a few of you check it out and provide input while we work out what's going on. But again, this is an alpha build. That means that it's not at all suitable for performance yet. We're letting it out early so you could see the direction we're going with it and provide input on that. But this WILL CRASH DaRouter eventually.

Enough with the warnings! Here are some of the new features...

    VINYL MODE 1 (RED)
    - new feedback PFL indicators (deck A is on left and deck B is on right)
    - B11 and B12 go forward and backwards through the beat jump values
    - B13 and B14 activate beat jumps backward or forward
    - Hold down TAP and hit SYNC to load instant doubles

    VINYL MODE 2 (PURPLE)
Same as the new Traktor 3.4 preset, with coarse/fine phase indicators and adjustment LED feedback. B11-B14 functionality carries over from VINYL MODE 1 (beat jumps)

LOOP MODE 1 (RED - AUTO LOOP)
    - Circle pad is divided into 3 buttons. Left and right scroll through loop values. Center turns loop on and off.
    - B11 and B12 cycle though different Loop Move values. B13 and B14 move the loop back or forward.

LOOP MODE 2 (PURPLE - MANUAL LOOP)
    - Circle pad is divided into 3 buttons. Left sets LOOP START. Right sets LOOP END. Center turns loop on and off.
    - B11 and B13 move the LOOP START backward and forward
    - B12 and B14 move the LOOP END backward and forward

FX MODE 1- (RED - set FX1 to chained mode)
    - Circle pad is in 3 slider mode. Sliders correspond to simple effects knob 1-3.
    - B11 turns on FX 1 insert for selected deck. B12 turns on FX2 insert for selected deck.
    - HOLD B13 or B14 and move your finger on the cirlce pad to adjust the wet/dry mix
    - HOLD the FX button and press B11-B13 to turn effect 1-3 on and off
    - HOLD the FX button and press B14 for LFO reset
    - HOLD the FX button and press S3-S5 (circle sliders) to scroll through effects for 1-3

FX MODE 2 (PURPLE - set FX2 to advanced mode)
    - B11 turns on FX 1 insert for selected deck. B12 turns on FX2 insert for selected deck.
    - HOLD B13 or B14 and move your finger on the cirlce pad to adjust the wet/dry mix
    - HOLD FX and press B11=B14 to toggle effects buttons 1-4

    EQ MODE 1 (RED)
Typical EQ mode like our other presets. Circle is in 3 slider mode. B11-B13 are kills. B14 is EQ reset.

    EQ MODE 2 (PURPLE - MASTER/CUE)
    - Circle is in 3 slider mode. S4 adjusts master level out
    - S3 adjusts headphones mix
    - S5 adjusts headphone level

    TRIGGER MODE
    - Circle is in 5 button mode. Buttons correspond to cue points like in the earlier presets.
    - B12 deleted the last selected cue
    - B13 drops a cue point
    - Hold B11 and press one of the cue triggers to move the last selected cue point to that button
    - B14 is an instant cue for the last selected cue point

Following that up, I just wanted to add this.

I see alot of people posting in this thread asking for what amounts to the MIDI spec for the SCS.3d. We've had this spec available to the public since our forums went live...

    http://forums.stantondj.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=28

That package comes with the MIDI output messages, outlines the feedback messages, and explains how they work. Preset switching is not handled by the hardware - you'll notice that the B1-B6 buttons just send out note data. We use this note data to trigger a preset switch in MIDI Translator (it's one of the built in translator behaviors).

I also recommend a MIDI monitoring program so you can more easily troubleshoot your presets. MIDIOX and MIDI Hack are both good for Windows. MIDI Monitor is good for the Mac.

    Cheers!

HELP: I need functionality from my SCS.3d with ScratchPro, like yesterday. I have a big ig in Vegas Jan. 8th and just came off a Rane Tm 57. Having to touch the computer is driving me nuts. Can someone help me here and give me some instruction on what to do. I'm total noob to the whole midi thing. Please help!

it's very easy to do - it is like programming your Keyboard with Shortcuts...

    Download DaRouter from http://www.enterthesystem.com/downloads/darouter.php
Activate the program with empty preset for single or dual controller(depending on if u got 1 or 2)
Open Traktor - got to Preferences --> Midi Mapping.
Just use the "Learn" Function in the Midi Mapping with the button on the SCS3.d....map it like u want to. The tell Traktor the way it should handle the input (Toggle, Direct, ect...).

That's it more or less.....just try it - it' really easy and self-explaining.

CHEMISTRY: Thank you. I tried one of Phil's and one of another preset but they only partially worked. I couldn't get them to scroll through tracks etc. I'm hoping someone can help me get on installed and working fairly quick though. I didn't expect to have to program the thing and really don't have the time right now unfortunately. Especially being that I don't even know that the parameters and the commands like "direct" etc even mean. As I said, I'm a total noob with limited time. Any other ideas?

Really what I'm mostly concerned about right now is being able to scroll through crates and folders, select/load tracks and skip through cue's. That will get me through my gig Jan. 8th and then I can sit down and learn more of this. Again, thanks in advance for any help here.

You have until Jan 8th? Just go through the manuals section on programming, and play around. It shouldn't take you long to learn it now.

Same was i. It wook me exactly 2hours to fully program this thing as i want it (with Loops, Beatjump, FX, Browsing and Control for Deck 3&4). No minute longer.

And you really should do it yourself to find the layout best working for you.

I started programming it myself. It's coming along slowly, but I'm getting it now. I was wondering if you could clue me in as to how you set up deck control for 3 and 4 only? Thanks in advance

i am using Vinyl Control for Deck 1+2 - and i need Deck 3+4 only for some samples and in very few cases for a acapella or instrumental song. So i only needed a Play/Stop and Cue Button.
I am not using the buttons marked with Play and Cue - i am using the Touchpad in the middle for these functions....

TSpro settings all messed up now

    :( Hi Steven,
I recently downloaded these settings for da scratch on my traktor pro but now it's all messed up and i don't know how to restore tspro back to its original factory settings...please help. Pro seems to be freezing up now on start up. But when i do get it working the vinyl control doesn't behave like a regular record anymore due to da scratch...any ideas?

When i attempt to scratch on vinyl i.e moving the record back and fourth it doesn't sound like scratching it sounds like sampling if that makes any sense. hope i havn't confused you but hoping you can help.

    Cheers

    :(

Yeh it will probably be down to the fact Traktor is trying to import some settings from the TSI i provided that may not bide well with your current setup. Try deleting the TSI file from your system and restarting traktor see if that helps.

I also had a problem with the audio not behaving like vinyl. I changed the tsi and that fixed the problem for me.
