I'd choose both. Or start with one 150 and the Maschine then bring in another 150 later on.

I've never used or demoed stantons, They look pretty nice, But, if you can find a deal on some 1200s. my gutt feeling says go with them.

also, I would say, start with turntables, add mashine later.

i have STR8-150s and 1210. The STR8-s50s are far superior, like way way way better. If clubs used STR8-150s id choose them before CDJs.

    Get decks before the maschine

i use stanton t.120s and ill never choose another deck, well, possibly a pdx3000, just for the midi, as a third deck! but yea, stanton all the way, as long as its the 120 or 150. altho getting a t120 now is pretty hard to come by since they have been discontinued for some time now.

The above link is all I could find but I have these, American Audio HTD 4.5 Turntables! It's the SAME as Str8-150's (minus the Str8 tone arm, and the Key Lock which isn't great built in tables anyway), oh and hundred bucks cheaper.....$299. Same Factory / assembly line and parts as the Stanton's! I think they are discontinued though. I got mine back in 2005...., and they are still strong, even after party foul of beer doused on them, and heavy mobile use.

I used to rock stanton tables, even digged their non-existent forum when it was alive......but things went down.. down..down and bye bye. Well It's your decision, but just throwin some info out there. As far as what's better, you will have to make that decision, I'm sure you can test Techs at any Guitar Center or Musicians Friend. Peace!

Oh and PS, check your local pawn shops, you'd be surprised at what they got if you don't mind used...esp Techs. You may not have to do one vs the other and get tables & Maschine!
    ---
Almost forgot, this is what convinced me back then to get American Audio Vs Stanton 150's......the good ole Skratchworx review......they have the Maschine review too!

So from the looks of it you're putting MIDI controls in the decks? If so, might I suggest another spot - being right by the tonearm there you're guaranteed to be knocking the tonearm around during a fast-paced set. I was experimenting with the same thing in the same location some time ago.

There's the Novation Dicer, which sticks into the 45 adapter hole on Techs, maybe that would fit your needs?

I have not ordered from there. That was the first site that had the AA HTD4.5 Tables available when I searched. It's your call but I'd maybe search further, and depending what gear you are looking to get, most commercial local places will try to price match what you find online.
