My maschine library is a wreck, I did it all wrong. I have duplicates of user groups, some load, some missing samples.

I delete the bad ones from the list, and restart, they are all back again..

Can someone tell me how to start over? But keep the working groups I have?

    Thanks

hey there. i don't know if this is correct, but i also tried redoing my library and i noticed, all the tags i'd put on samples etc. - they must get added to the wav or to some xml database in maschine, cos when i deleted them and imported them again, it remembered all the old tags.

i know it kinda sucks, but i think the best way is to get all your sounds into maschine and then go thru, sorting them with tags etc.

there are good ways to import.

i have my sampler folder organized somewhat on my desktop:
    full tracks
    samples (downloads)
    sample packs (bought)
traktor samples -- i don't add these to masch.

so i go to disk, import say a sound pack for example. these are organized by company & pack. so i click on samples/sample packs/fatloud/urbanorchestra, ok i'll import that folder, i'll make sure it goes into 1: one shots, 2: orchestra, 3rd bank: "-- fatloud", "strings", "urban", whatever tags i think will be useful. i go nuts and use the 3rd bank a great deal. i put -- in front of the company name of the pack cos that makes it stay at the top of the list.

once i've got this done for all the things i want to import, it is time to tag them properly. i use the search box - it is actually very very good. you can put in that search box 'urban orchestra' and even tho that isn't in the filename anywhere, it will show only that soundpack. then i might tag out some more specifically.

or you can filter by --fatloud in your 3rd bank, then type hi hats or snare, and then select all, tag.

the only other bit of advice i can give ya, if you want to delete unnecessary tags, you just have to have a sample in that tag. so at the beginning you could put a random sample onto every single tag you wanna delete then go thru and delete them by right clicking in the edit tag menu.

be careful tho! cos the instruments and vsts and fx all have their own tags too. you woulnd't wanna delete them.

    hope that makes sense.

    Try going into preferences-user paths-rescan
    ". "-libraries-rescan
