    hi guys,

hi guys i'm new to the program and i have some problems getting started.
i'm still using the free download version but i want to buy the program if i can make it work alright

ok so i installed yesterday and had some problems getting sound out of guitarrig. first i had input and output but i also heard the clean guitar through the effects. now today when i started i get no input or output in guitarrig but i do hear the guitar clean through my soundscard.

the soundcard is integrated and i don't understand why i don't hear anything through guitarrig

    thnx for the help

I'm guessing that the clean sound you're hearing is actually due to some setting with your soundcard (my builtin has a 'monitor' switch for the line in so that incoming sound goes to speaker).

Are you seeing your soundcard GR audio config screen, do you see ins and outs in the Routing tab?

Have you tried using ASIO4ALL? It is usually a good thing...

The line-in doesn't have a monitor setting on my soundcard. so that's not the reason i hear the clean sound.

while i'm still trying to figure this all out i have another question. if i buy guitarrig with the controller. the controller is connected with usb but the sound output will still be through the computer or do i have to use 2 cables to the cabinet

If you're talking about the GR Kontrol then yes it has a soundcard/interface.
So you would connect the Kontrol to your speakers.

There is also the option of getting the GR Mobile which comes with a small USB sound card (one channel in, stereo out I think it is), that one is only about 100€ (but ofc you get no buttons/pedals etc).
