Since installing the new update , when i rty to run Maschine in stand alone the initial scan searches through my whole computer . Which takes it an hour or more and then it scans it again . Never letting me open maschine . Is there any way to bypass the initial scan ?

    Same Thing

I also tried to scan my C:\ drive and now it tries to scan every single .dll file on my c:\ drive. In my case there is 18,000+, this would take 5 hours *IF* it wasn't constantly crashing .dll files and then finally crashing all of Maschine before I can even get into Maschine to turn off auto-scan or change the scan folders.

There needs to be a skip option at the beginning of Maschine for scanning or the ability to choose a whole drive disabled, etc.

Also... I've uninstalled Maschine, all the way to nothing and reinstalled from 1.5 to 1.51. to 1.6 with the Maschine controller unplugged the whole time and the setting for the c:\ drive being in on the scan is still set.

How can you get rid of the preferences so they can get set back to default? Is this in the registry and if so how do you use Ccleaner to remove it for just Maschine. I've been at trying to just get back into Maschine for 11 hours now. :S

    Thanks

Yah, I kinda assumed that you would be able to scan without it trying to load .dlls that have nothing to do with VST at all, like other programs that use VSTs etc.

Oh well, lesson learned on that one, just need to get it fixed now. Going to let it try to get in while I shower now, see if it crashes, if so... Going to try to remove preferences from the registry I guess.

    - Instructions to Fix it -

Okay, I got it fixed and working, but it's not super fun, though it's a lot more fun than the 11 hours I spent trying to stay away from the registry.

You need to uninstall Maschine completely, back up your projects first, then uninstall Maschine, I also uninstalled the whole library and controller drivers + controller editor.

Then I went into Windows Search and did a search for Maschine and deleted every folder and file related to Maschine except the ones that were with the Kore 2 Player compilation v2 thing.

Then you need to download a program called Ccleaner, just google it and get it from cnet or download.com or whatever, some trusted source.

You need to run this, primarily the registry cleaner part, but I ran everything it offered.

I then restarted my computer, install Maschine 1.5 with the Maschine Controller UNPLUGGED, ran Maschine 1.5 once, restarted the computer, unplugged the controller again, installed maschine 1.51, ran it once, restarted the computer, unplugged the controller again installed 1.6, started 1.6 and boom, it's running now.

I suggest immediately turning off the scan at start option in preferences, just in case who knows. You don't really need it once you do this once, as you add VSTs youll know, I doubt youll spend 20,000 dollars and install 500 one day and need it to do it at the start. haha

Now I need to find my actual VSTs, but needless to say that will get you fixed.

Also, and this is very likely over kill, I actually started each version up before and after the computer restart, also chances are removing controller editor was over kill too, but after wasting 14 hours at this, I didn't care anymore, I was getting anything related to Maschine OFF!

Good luck and Don't ever scan the whole C:\ drive again, I know I won't haha :D

you can spare yourself the wait by just defining a vst-folder and just scanning that one! :s

try to delete the following files:
    on windows:
    (userhome)\AppData\Local\Native Instruments\Maschine\Plugins_ia32.xml
    (userhome)\AppData\Local\Native Instruments\Maschine\Plugins_x64.xml

    on mac:
    (user)\library\application support\Native Instruments\Maschine\Plugins_ia32.xml
    (user)\library\application support\Native Instruments\Maschine\Plugins_x64.xml

that should reset the plugin scanning path.

I actually fixed this problem after i started this thread. I was able to open Maschine as a plug in into my DAW and from there it did not scan and i was able to change my preferences . I now have scanned my computer and have it disabled for start up
