Happens every time now. Start the mix, after a few seconds there begins a faint ringing and gradually builds up to a shrill within seconds.

    Tried new headphones. Same result.
I've disconnected everything (albeit briefly) to hopefully dispel any static charge, but that didn't help either.

    Kind of bizarre.

Any troubleshooting steps you have, I'm willing to try.

What controller/driver version/Traktor version are you using?

Traktor Kontrol S4 using Pro, version 2.6.1 (latest version). Using PC laptop.

This sound did start occurring around the time of the most recent update. So that could play a role I suppose. I've updated before with no issues, so this would be a first for me where an update caused problems.

Many S2/4 users have reported the same problem with 2.6.1

Have you tried the latest S4 drivers from the website?

Well, that was easy. Seemed to do the trick. I installed drivers 3.0.3 and the issue seems to be resolved. I'll keep at it to see if the problem arises again.

    Thank-you for the help!

    Hi!

I have installed 2.6.1 over 2.6.0. The installation went fine but after i rebooted the computer and load up TP2 and load a song and play, then load another song into deck B. after a while this Wierd sound coming out of my headphones. the volume button does not react in the interface either before or after the wierd sound.

    I have W7 on a Asus K73S
    http://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/K73SV/

So what did i do, i reinstalled the version again 2.6.1 and rebooted but the same issue appears yet again :( so i decided to install the older version 2.6.0 and the issue went away.

i have also tried to reset the settings to default by going trough the wizard in the lower settings window.

To mention one thing is that the volume knob does not move when i turn the real knob clock wise or anti clock wise either on 2.60 and 2.61. And when turning headphone mix knob, the sounds goes away. and one thing more is that i can not use the CUE to pre listen at all, and yes i have the headphone mix knob turned to the left. I am no amateur user, i am a advanced computer user with allot of experience.

What should i do? I need help!

Guys, I have similar problem. Maybe even the same.
I'm using Win7, Traktor s4 with TP2. So I start the software, put something to listen in headphones.. and after a minute one buzzing noise starts to increase for a few seconds, and then I hear only that noise.. the music disappears!
And I can't listen anything in my headphones!
If I restart the software, I can listen to my music for 1 minute again, and after that - the same!

mindarelus1 yes it is the same as we have.

I got answers from NI yesterday btw
    _______________________________________________________________________

    "Hello,

yes we know, most people report it happens after ~2-5minutes, some say 10 minutes.

For the moment you can only use 2.6.0 to avoid that, as we have not yet been able
to reproduce this in house or to find the root of this issue.

If you have any further informations on this issue, please let us know."

If you start an older version (e.g. 2.6.0) out of your backup folder, you will not
    experience this problem:

By default this backup is located there:
    C:\Program Files\Native Instruments\Traktor 2\Backup
    ________________________________________________________________________

To bad they cant reproduce this annoying issue. i actually told them to buy the same computer model as i have - Asus k73S
I did not get any answer after i told them that that. I mean how hard could it be?

Because of this i cant use 2.6.1 and take advantages of the features that comes with it.:(

It sounds like you create a loop on 0.8 and it goes into the headphones.. I can't believe they can't reproduce it.. It happens ANYTIME!

    edit:

Contacted tech support to help me find a place to DL 2.6.0. Waiting for response. If you know of another place to DL it, let me know. Can't find it on NI website.

So far so good on Traktor Pro 2.6.0! Mixed for about an hour with no issues.

This does look to be the only resolution to this at the moment.

Seems like the bug is only in TP2, and not in TSP2.

    S4 headphone

I have exactly the same problem and I only just bought the S4 with Traktor version 2.6.1 so I can not even switch back to version 2.6.0. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I got a very helpful email from NI support sending me a link to retore to the previous version 2.6.0 and now it works fine again! Apparently they are working on fixing this bug in 2.6.1.

    And another victim ...
I have been using 2.6.1 for a while now ... but since a week I also got hit with this.
Using a Pioneer DDJ Ergo K
I wonder what happend to trigger this.
I'll try to use a restore point of a few weeks ago and see if that fixes things.

    <edit>

I set my win7 back 8 days in time and the problem seems gone ....
*crosses fingers* hope it stays away!

    grrr...

same issue here as well. after the update i had the same problem. after which, i tried installing the newest drive pack to no avail... prroblem continued. i also reset my buffer and latency to sizes that are rediculous and still problem persists. at this point you'd think that they would toss us a link to downgrade to the last stable version.
