If I want to turn ARP on or off, or change from 1/8 to 1/16 etc., I can do it by pressing buttons in SONAR. But I don't see how to save what I've done as part of an ensemble, or control these changes through midi. I must be missing something obvious --- thanks for any help!

Save the snapshot AND save the ensemble...
As to controlling the setting via MIDI, you'd need to replace the multipicture with a normal switch. I use a list myself...

    Thanks, I'll try saving both.

I'm afraid your advice to "replace the multipicture with a normal switch" and "using a list" is beyond this newbie's comprehension. Is it possible to give a simple explanation, or is a matter of me plowing through all the tutorials etc. until it makes sense?

It's actually not *that* important to me to be able to control these things through midi, but I'd still like to understand how to do it if it's possible.

    Thanks again,
    Bill

Actually, looking at it again, you don't even have to do that...

Go into the arp structure; you'll find a list module titled arp mode (the red one in the attachment). Go into its properties and on the last page, activate MIDI in and choose your controller...

For the speed, do the same thing. In this case it's the switch labeled arp speed. Go into its properties and activate MIDI in, etc.
