Open question: Can you create 2 x Stems files say <Songname>A and <Songname>B (from the same song of course) if you have 8 tracks in your song and you put 1-4 on one Stem file (<Songname>A) and 5-8 on the other Stem file (<Songname>B), load them into Traktor S5 or S8 sync them up and have control over 8 tracks from the same song, has anyone done this, does it work or am I just thinking too much?

I don't see why this wouldn't be possible. Its essentially no different than syncing and mixing two different songs with 4 layered stems each, except in this case you are blending the same song in two stem tracks using 8 layers. Just don't know why or how you would need 8 different layers on one song. I suppose you could have the vocal, synth or drums parts chopped up into different/multiple layers. Seems like a lot to juggle with one song though.

But getting them perfectly timed might be a pain. That's the essence of Stem tracks is the layers are basically eq'd already and perfectly in time.
That's kinda what makes them separate from the remix decks.
If timing and the parts you want to mix in is not an issue then the remix decks would be just fine for your idea.
Or also another stem track. but make it a basic loop with variations and use cue points using your other stem files more as a continuous sound.
For instance the hats and percussion, the bassline, or maybe energetic fx (gliding synths), parts that can be used at any time and no weird breaks in them for vocals. Or changes in bpm and time that offset and cause unwanted results. You don't want sudden stops and unexpected changes originally meant for the original mix.
