Because stem controls are not displayed in Traktor, I made an app which shows stems states... Kind of like midi controller with VU-meters, and other stuff... it shows filter and volume positions from stems channels... If there are some of you interested in this app, I will upload it and give some support... :D

There is an image attached, which shows app running on top of Traktor, showing VU, filter and volume positions...

There are some ideas for improvement on this soft, but this is part of my experiment on using gamepads with traktor, and it is kind of fix for playing with stems without use of S8, preparing sets before I take S8 and give it all...

If i could get info on which track is playing, maybe use ocr and screen capture to determine right file, I could generate waveforms, get track positions and instead of VU show real waveforms... but this is kind of hacking, where it should be support... :D stay tuned...

Here is example of what can be done with other iteration of this software... Kind of tut...

Here is some further development of the visualizer... I monitor traktor process to see what files it is accessing, then I create waveforms from stem multi track files and display them in the software. I still don't know what track is playing in which deck, but it seems that there is a way to get some data by using Denon mapping as output from traktor just to realize what file is tied to what deck...

Man, too bad I just read it now, ******* awesome!

Did you make Traktor output MIDI and then process it in your app? (at least that'd be my way of doing it)

I was the guy who released the STEM creator before NI did so you can guess I am quite excited about stuff like you just did :D

I just wanted to tell you you could split up the STEMS and then calculate the amplitude but then I scrolled down and realized that exactly what you did >.<

One thing I always thought about: you can make the wave form represent the volume by simply resizing it. Just whatever value your controller set to the volume faders. There was someone who hacked the MIDI2ASCII output but I think it'd still be the easiest way to just OCR the screen and compare it to the STEM titles.

    Keep us posted!
