I'm a very happy AK1 owner; it's a tank, sounds GREAT, is trouble-free, a workhorse. But today I ran into a need that it apparently cannot solve for me.

I need to record a STEREO signal, and apparently the AK1 needs to become an AK2 in order to do this. :)

I understand that the Audio 4 can do this, but it only goes to 96k/24-bits, and I REALLY need 192K stereo input. :-/

So my question is: WHAT interface do I buy for this need? After searching NI's products, I don't think they offer one, so someone please send me to the right place?

    THANKS!
    Michael

    ?

Use both inputs on the AK 1; they're configured as a stereo pair.

    Woo-HOO!

I searched the AK1 docs and never found that one critical piece of information. :)

    THANKS!

genius ew. That solved a problem for me too. Why isnt that well documented as its a major feature (he said checking manual again quickly in case it is).

I don't mean to be ignorant, but is there any other way to record a stereo signal?
I thought recording stereo implies two audio cables into mono inputs? Or you mean using one single stereo cable?

I never mean to be ignorant either. :)

He means using two mono inputs, one into each of the AK1's two input channels (one into the multi-plug, and one into the 1/4-inch plug). The AK1 is configured internally to make one stereo signal when you do that. And as far as I know, there is no other way to record a stereo signal with the AK1.

    Cheers
