still cant get KONtakt 2 or reaktor 5 to activate, I figured it out PLEASE READ!!!!

MAN you guys would not believe the BS I went through the paast two weeks (well YES you do) Here was my problem and here is the solution.
first , I was one of the stupid ones tha updated withou seeing if there was any problems .after the kontakt 2 and reaktor 5 updates they would not activate. i had over 15 emails to NI support, and here is where it got fun. it started with a innocent email please help and it turned into a nightmare. they would send me things like re-install kontakt and reaktor , try only installing the basic w/o vst,AU and lib. when I would try it (and not work) it would turn into please start activation in offline mode and expot the ARF file and send it to us, we will send you a file to import. they Never DID and I mean that was at least half of the emails, they would send activaton codes but everytime I would put one in and check to see if it worked it would still say not activated. I would write back saying help , I got two emails saying so your problem is fixed. if you need any further asisstance pleasse feel free to write, man I would scream, then I got an email with a reg support number that no one would ever answer(at least wen I would call ) I waited once for 70 minutes. I could go on and on But I am sure you guys went through this too .
HERE IS THE SOLUTION
well this morning i was about to delete everything that had to do with NI and MAYBE start over. I have just had enough , really. well as I was, for the last time deleting the kontakt2,and reaktor 5 from my computer and all their files, somethiing hit me. I realized when I would try to install them they woudl start in komplete 4 but then move to komplte 3 folder so i told my self let me go the opposite of how i installed this stuff ,and was ready to take it all down to kom 3. so as kontakt 2 and reaktor5 was in the trash i also deted the komplete 4 folder from my applications folder and then i did a finder search(mac) on komplete 4, i deleted the plists,and other files that had to do with komplete 4 like the folder and i cant remember if there was a compnents of kom 4 but anyway i trashed it then repaired permissions. OH BTW I also updarted the adobe flash 8 to the latest version and when installing the service center agian , it asked to install 8 i would hit quit when its install screen was up. well since my komplete4 disc has been in my cd drive for a week now i opened it only selected kontakt 2 reaktor 5 and the install AU versions. I DID LEAVE ALL THE OTHER INST ALONE AS I DID NOT MESS WITH THEM AND THEY WERE FINE. when I hit install it asked for my KOM 4 serial number, put it in, hit install, then installed the recent kontakt 2.2.1 and reaktor 5.12.updates and I did not have to do just the easy install or basic only(which support said to do) I installed what i wanted from them which was basic,library,vst and AU. after it was all done i hit activation center and everything was there hit next, and yessssss it was all activated.
I dont wish anyone else has this problem too but i do hope that if you do this should take care of it

I have a similar experience. I have updated versions of KOMPLETE 2, 3 and now KOMPLETE 4 which I registered (authoized) via the control center in November.

Yesterday I added some SATA drives to my system and converted the FAT32 on my C Drive to NTFS. Since then only half my K3/K2 püroducts are authorised, as I found out when trying to start my sequencer. Of course my DAW is not connected to the intenet...

Now I have a weird melange of authorised / unauthorised NI Komplete Products. All the stuff that came with K4 (battery 3, FM8, Absynth 4) is authorised. Most of the stuff that came with K3 is not...

Now the changes I introduced to my system (if these are responsible) are fairly minor. Windows XP has no problem with this at all, nor does any other system-based authorisation.

I was going to build a new computer anyway and transfer these athorisation, but this is a weekend lost to music production for sure.

I emailed NI with this problem and hope my experience i sbetter than yours.

DUDE, I would hate to tell you what to do, but liek me my problems obviously lied in the actual folder and PLists mores than , that the program wont authorize, ya know. So if you have all the install discs still maybe re-install in new floders . Luckily for me I use a seperate drive for a sample libs so the installation was really painless. I mean the amount of time I invested listening to NAtive inst tell me the same thing is just crazy. I feel bad saying that cause I dont like to DOg a company I like, ( well I like the sounds of the products lets say that. Good luck bro!

When I replaced my hard-drive, I didn't even attempt to install K3, I just installed K4.

I think I've got fairly conclusive proof that the activation logic is broken in that scenario. I've said it before but I think it's broken like this:

1st action is: check if the system ID deactivated. I think this check DOESN'T take the hard disk ID into account.
2nd action is: check if the ID is already activated or find an empty slot. I think this check DOES take the hard disk ID into account.

Therefore, you can end up in a Catch 22 like I did (and have again with Traktor).

I'm being told that Traktor is deactivated. I deactivated it because on the install, I was told I didn't have enough slots to add the new ID (it was previously installed on laptop and desktop).

Maybe NI want to make sure we all go out and buy new motherboards and CPUs every time the hard disk breaks down!?

I've explained the above (or at least tried to) to NI support, but haven't heard anything so far.

The only way I got Komplete 4 working again on my desktop was to get NI to re-activate my old system ID. Because K4 allows 3 authorisations, the spare slot got used to activate, otherwise it wouldn't work. It still needed the old system ID activated though, otherwise it didn't work.

Does my logic sound right to everyone else? Are NI going to fix this flaw so I can use Traktor on my desktop again?
