Still not getting how to adjust sample pitch

I'm sorry to say it but I still can't figure out how to create melodies(different pitches) with samples.

Currently I'm trying to do the following in Maschine 2.6 software:
    • Open up Maschine
    • Load sample into empty slot
    • Load same sample into a different slot (2 sounds in my group)
    • Edit sample1
    • "Edit" -> "Stretch"
    • Change "Tune" to desired pitch and select "Apply"
But this doesn't do anything to the sound at all.....like zero difference.

I can only change "Tune" if I select "Tune" from "Sound" "Pitch/Envelope", but then length of sample is correctly wrong.

The only thing I can think of is that I am using Maschine Jam and most of the tutorials I've seen are with Maschine Studio hardware, but this shouldn't make a difference, right? It's all coming through the same software.

    Thanks for any help.

Oh lord... No. Stretch is not meant to be used to play a sample chromatically.

What hardware do you have? Jam or Maschine?

Using Jam. Any tips on how to adjust the sample then?

You have to enter Keyboard mode to play a sample chormatically.
This is how you do it on the software, on the hardware idk cause i don't have Jam but i assume you have to use the tune button (no sarcasm intended)
Entering chromatic Keyboard mode on the software should enable on the hardware too.

    Thanks for the help.

So the issue I'm having is the samples are pads, so they are a few seconds long.
Playing notes higher causes the length to be shorter so I need to find someway to stretch, which will make the notes higher but keep the same length.

This would be "realtime" audio stretching. A feature Maschine does not have as of now, but are "supposedly" working on it. Ableton Live has one of the best realtime stretching workflows available. I would recommend getting it, or maybe just the "intro" version. I believe it comes with all those capabilities. Unfortunately you will not be able to pitch up or down a sample within Maschine while also keeping it's original timing.

Live intro doesn't have the complex modes, but even the regular modes are useable.

Indeed. Unfortunately, what is being worked on is audio tracks and stretching for that. For the OP's needs we would need real time stretching in the sampler. Something NI stated they plan to get around to later after the audio tracks are done.

Depending on the sample you can loop a portion of it to sustain it longer using ADSR, works decent with solo instruments but if its a complex sample with a lot going on then it won't sound good.
Depends on what you want to do and use.
