    Hi,

I have a really frustrating problem with my Guitar Rig II. In Standalone I don't have any Problems but when I'm running it with Cubase Studio4 as a plug in and then add BFD as an Instrument I get a very nasty High Frequent Noise - it's very audible e.g. on the "dream acoustic" preset. The same happens with all UAD plugs.
The strange thing is it won't disappear even when I start a new song or disabling the Plugs. It only goes away when I restart cubase.
It won't happen with any other plugs from the Komplete 4 Bundle.

My System is a 2*Opteron 270 with a Tyan Board and a RME 9632LE connected via ADAT with a Behringer 3216.

If anyone could help me out I would be very thankful.

    Thanks,
    Markus

There was something about UAD and this a while back. Lat me talk to Berlin and see what I can find out for you.

Sit tight, I'll get back to you.

Your problem may be unrelated, but I am curious to the cause of my problem which involves a high pitched "CRT" type noise when using the built-in Noise Reduction at the top of the GR2 rack.

Does turning this off solve the problem?

Firstly thanks for the replies - I'll try that with the noise reduction later at home and report if that helped.

for the UAD problem - I deinstalled the Plugs and also took the UAD Card of my computer but the problem still happens with the FXPansion BFD.

OK. i haven't confirmed what it is. There was a different UAD issue that was already resolved. I'll see what I can find.

    Hi,

I tried turning off that Noise reduction today, and the noise is gone. I have to throw the Noise Reduction Module out of the Rack and have to push the button in the Input Rack then the Noise is gone.

Thanks for your help, but it is still strange - Marc can you forward this to NI - maybe this is of some help the guys also.

    Thanks again for your help,
    Markus

    confimed problem here too

I've never used GR before, today i wanted some tube distortion and thought lets install it.

I thought there was some "retro tube amp disortian - man!" until I found the NR button bug. However I still *sometimes" hear this high pitched ringing on some patches - a was using it on a bass line so the high pitch is very evident.

Also - NI PLEASE stop installing a new service centre EVERY TIME I update anything - focus instead on updating the preset mgmt in spektral delay.

    Thanks.

    BMF

I've been telling them about this ever since the 2.2 update was released, but they don't seem to care.

It really is an ignored issue.

Marc, could you ask NI if they know about this?

How is it ignored? Sometimes listening does not involve speaking...

They're not gonna come out in public and say "Yeah, we suck"...

I have let them know of your issues and it's been logged and is being looked into.

Remember, I am here as your advocate and ALWAYS pass information along to them.

Well, is it fixed in 2.2.1? ;)

Thanks, I for one appreciate the extra link to NI that you graciously provide.

    :)

It came in WAY too late for the 2.2.1 update. We targeted the biggest issues for that release. I will enquire again about the status of this one, but don't expect a response.

    Noise

I'm using the Demo Version as of last night.

There IS a problem when using BFD - noise.

I'm running Cubase 5 on a PC with an RME Digiface and PCI card. So it's not unoque to UAD.

As soon as any drum sounds from BFD, a 'noise' appears on the track/channel with GuitarRig2 inserted.

Simply turning off BFD doesn't 'fix' it.

    Hi Zumbido,

at the moment - just throw the Noise Reduction Module out of the Rig - and don't forget to push the NR button in the Input Module also then the Noise is gone - you'll maybe have then some noise from your guitar but putting in a different NR plug in the Cubase chain will help to be" clean" again :)

I hope the Bug will be fixed with the next Update but in this way you can keep on making music at the moment.

    cheers,
    Markus

Iceleben, I'll give that a try.

I think it's some sort of conflict though with BFD and maybe my audio card. I have a somewhat different conflict with Melodyne and GigaStudio running simultaneously as well. It's not a perfect world.

I'm primarily using the demo GR2 for bass and the original (pre-recorded via DI) bass tracks are super quite.

There's no noise until the very first BFD sound. Then I can't get rid of it til I close down the application and reload.

But then it's an endless circle.

For now, I'll just print the bass through GR2 without BFD running.

The noise isn't so distracting that I can't work on the tracks til I'm satisfied with the bass sound.

By the way, I bought the full program today. It's a great application. :D
