I have Studio Drummer 1.1 on a Mac. 2.8ghz Quad Core Intel i7 w/8GB RAM using Logic Pro 9 on Snow Leopard at 64 bit.

Every bass drum beat sounds like a torn speaker. Low track count projects pop and click like crazy. Actually unusable as a plug in.

Stand alone is ok. I bought Superior 2.0 at the same time. It is cruising without issue.

Something is just not right here.

I'm looking into these CPU problems at the moment. It seems there are mostly Kontakt problems on Mac in Logic 9.1.6 on OSX 10.6.8. I could work with two times as much stuff in Logic 7.2 in OSX 10.6.7. Which one is the culprit?

Personally, with all due respect, I think it is a Studio Drummer problem. I have used a lot of plugs, VST's, with my rig and it has never even sweated running up to 30 audio tracks with 9.1.6 and 10.6.8. Superior works flawlessly. But I load Studio Drummer and it won't even get off the ground even with minimal audio tracks.

Now additionally stand-alone via player it seems to work. So that would seem to imply that Logic and NI are not playing well together.

I had the problems too and I don't have Studio Drummer so it must be Kontakt in 9.1.6/10.6.8 or even more versions.
I would even get the "can't process" error with all tracks frozen.

    Hi,

I'm not shure if my Studio Drummer problem is due to the same reasons as those problems described above.

After i updated Kontakt to v5.0.2 and
installed the upgrades "Abbey Road 60s Drummer" and "Abbey Road Modern Drummer" Kontakt freezes while loading the Stadium Kit. Session Kit and Garage Kit work fine.

It seems, as if it hangs during sample-loading, since the memory amount increases only slowly (long duration stepwise). Sometimes even the gui doesn't appear.

The strange thing is, that there is nearly no harddisc- or cpu-activity.
After a while, either Kontakt or the whole PC hangs. Its seems to be a thread- or ressource-lock or something like that...

All other Kontakt products (Abbey Road Drummers, Pianos, Organs, etc.) work fine.

    My config:
    Win 7, NI Komplete 8, Cubase 6,
    Intel Core i7 (Quad+Hyperthreading = 8 virt. cores)
    all 64-bit

There is definitly something goin' on with Studio Drummer. ..

    Best regards. J.
PS.: Except for that, Komplete 8 is a awesome collection of great products!
And thanks to NI for the free upgrade from Abbey Road Drums to Abbey Road Drummer!

Studio drummer adding extra notes by itself

I cant load more than 2-3 instrument in kontakt 5 without the 'panic cannot allocate enough memory' screen popping up.Studio drummer is particularly bad.If i load up anything with that the whole program crashes.I dunno why either,my computer is a beast.Since the update, whenever i play and record a beat on my midi keyboard studio drummer adds in an extra note directly on top of the one i just played so i have to go back and remove each 1 individually.Very annoying and time consuming.Anyone else having this problem? It only happens when i use my midi keyboard, not when i type in the notes.Very srange. It may be a setting i have on that i dont know bout.

Almost three months later, I too have problems with Studio Drummer. It causes tons of ASIO crashes, even at about 750 buffer settings. At about 350, with the drums turned off, all is well.
