A Science Question for anyone whose interested:
What kinds of speakers are capable of producing frequencies under 20Hz?
    How about Studio monitors?
Can any Reaktor synths output frequencies below 20 Hz?
Is there an instrument or module capable of giving a readout in Hertz of these, or any frequencies for that matter which I can insert after a Reaktor synth.
(Just thinking of pure sine waves here)
    Thanks

    Motorbasses.

Hardly. They must be huge, at minimum.

Maybe not *any*, but many. Generally, there's not much use for such low frequencies, except for THX maybe, but I doubt even that. The human ear cannot distinguish notes that low, so all they'll do is use up an enormous amount of electric / sonic energy just to interfere with other bass frequencies. Good speaker systems reproduce notes as low as 35 Hz, often by using a subwoofer.

There probably is, I don't recall.

reaktor itself should be able to produce frequencies that low, in terms of oscillators, just put a sinewave osc in lfo range. i cant think of any use for such a thing, though. even superlow sub frequencies in techno music are >20hz (unless you have some non-musical use for it)

... is this example too simple? (see image)

Note that a soundcard may have a HP filter to remove any DC offsets which may attenuate frequencies below 20Hz, and certainly those below 5Hz.

btw: is this inspired by «The Electronic Revolution» or «The Job» by William S. Burroughs?

I thought it was "Around the World on 20Hz" by Joolz Vurne. Although I'm not really shore...

Now that I think of it - what about Nikola Tesla (concerning his studies about the earth's resonant frequency)? This guy was from another level, lemme tell you this.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Nyquist's theorems dictated that digital audio is incapable of producing frequencies below 20Hz. Please educate me if I'm wrong...

... incapable of reproducing frequencies *above* half the sampling rate (in case of 16bit CD format = 22,5 kHz). A very steep lowpass filter must be used to filter out artefacts around the critical frequency, and to be on the safe side (or because of the lack of an infinitely steep filter), this frequency is lowered to 20kHz.
