yeah, mista sputnik is right...(and aip is drunk!;-)
reaktor 's running under ubuntu linux via wine
wine now have asio driver and many audio apps are woring fine
    R5's working just amazingly fine!really!
well,it's working up to R5.11 because 5.12 has this ****ing new protection that sucks bitchass!
the dev of the new protection are working to fix this,so hopefully next R5 release will work ( the last generation of NI software is working now!)

i was thinking that there still were some linux users here, but it seems that i was wrong...
anyway, for those interested (if such pariah exist?)
you can find an "how to" there

    well,
i now know that nobody cares!
i just want to add that 5.12 is now working under linux too, since i have installed the last massive update (i guess some of the "service center's files" have been updated in the process)...

I wouldn't say that. I just don't have any experience with it, and I have everything invested to XP at this point. But it is nice to know that if I find myself in a fix with someone who uses linux I can still use Reaktor. I know that those that use linux love it, at least I can recommend Reaktor to them now.

    yes you can recommand it,really...
i'm impressed how well it runs!
i was expecting some bugs/crash but i have to say that i didnt notice any difference with an xp install!

if you have a dual boot linux/xp (dont knowif it works on mac) you dont even have to install reaktor under linux you can run it directly from your xp parttition
and you can share your lib between linux and win
    wine is IM-PRE-SSIVE!

now the goals to find a seq that run well too
i had no success with live6
energyxt1.4 is doing well but has some gui glitches
actually reaper is the one i found the more stable but it has limited midi....

the best would be a native linux seq with a "wine vst wrapper",i dont know if such a beast is possible....

i am happy to see it run- i have an ubuntu machine for my office and run xp in the studio. it moves me closer to making my next studio machine linux. is latency similar?

are you saying ableton isn't working on it yet?

yes ,i had no success running live6
    it doesnt even start...:-(

ubuntu has a realtime kernel and wine now have asio driver so latency is not an issue
i didnt notice any difference with xp
weird thing the driver info says 46ms but it's deffinitivly not accurate since 46ms latency is unplayable...

most of NI soft are playing fine
    i tried massive,fm7,fm8,kontakt3

guitar rig did run but crash a lot.

i think this week end i will try absynth (finger crossed!)

i also have vazmodular working like a charm too

i wouldn't hold my breath for cubase
its ultra sophisticated (who said intrusive?) protection scheme is an issue
i read that sx3 was working but the dongle was not detected (what a surprise!) and the guy has to use a dongle emu....

    btw absynth4 is working too....

    ...
    yup!

    it works PER-FEC-TLY ! ;-)
(i'am in a non stop erection since i tried it one week ago....so tired now....!)

the only thing is that if you want to use 5.12 instead of 5.11 you have to first install a recent NI software to have the service center bullshit updated....
install jack, wine and wineasio and there you go!

    someuseful tips here:
