Friends, I would like to suggest an improvement to the directory tree for the Explorer tab. Add the ability to move, delete, rename system folders, as well as the ability to place Windows folders in Traktor folders. Ability to create Windows folders directly in Traktor. It would be nice to be able to manipulate windows folders directly from Traktor. It's easy to implement, is it? In theory, these are just standard operations on folders in Windows, which are available directly from Traktor. And also the ability to place such folders not only in the Explorer tab, but also in the Collection and Playlists tab. This feature has been requested by many because it allows we to create a folder structure that can be used outside of the Traktor. I think the Traktor should facilitate this transition. Now the Traktor takes a share in the budget and medium market, but if the DJ sometimes plays on a club standard or any other standalone player, then there is no convenient way to drive him library from Traktor with a quick switch between libraries / players

It would be incredible if mapping functions were assigned to be able to sort the folder (stars, name, key, comments) from the controller, without having to touch the laptop. It would greatly streamline the search for songs.

I think the best way to implement this is as a track filter, which is accessible directly from the controller

It is not exactly that, the idea is that in a folder, the songs can be ordered from a controller, in the same way that it is done when you click on one of these buttons with the mouse or trackpad. On live, there are times when you want to search for a song by stars, or by key, or comments, and right now this can't be mapped, you have to use the laptop.

I would like to propose to make possible to set a specific color for emotions in tags, for greater readability. This can be done in a way similar to what hash tags look like on social networks.

    upload_2020-9-17_1-32-58.png

In the Traktor settings, we could write our's own emotion to each color, and when the DJ wrote a comment for a certain word,
then it would be automatically tinted with this color

Being a beginner Dj coming from Recordbox the only real thing I miss that feels essential is the darkening or played track in session. In the big index it is just passed quickly in 14.1 but I see no follow up on, what would seem like a simple and core function when you play larger sets.

Nice idea, alas +1 only if these can also be written to file metadata, which in turn would require Traktor to understand and able to write
    multi-value metadata
    as well as to
    custom metadata fields...

The way it's implemented in Rekordbox is/was dead on arrival for me, as the only purpose of an in-app-tag approach, is to lock users into an ecosystem, making it hard/impossible on purpose to use the pain-stakingly maintained tags/data elsewhere...

Add a side menu that can be used like:
    - tagging
    upload_2020-9-25_0-50-14.png
    - matching tracks that sound good together
    upload_2020-9-25_0-54-20.png
    - tag editing window
    upload_2020-9-25_0-59-41.png
    - second browser window
    upload_2020-9-25_1-0-48.png
    - automix, where we can drag tracks and they will play as in a regular media player

Add a recommendation system to the browser, based on services that have algorithms for selecting similar music by tempo, mood, energy
for example, how do music streaming services (spotify, deezer)
i also found a services like this
    http://b2b.musicovery.com/
    https://www.audionetwork.com/track/searchkeyword
In general, many services understand music in many parameters, this is how api spotify looks like

    https://developer.spotify.com/documentation/web-api/reference/tracks/get-audio-features/
    upload_2020-9-25_6-48-45.png
why we djs don't have expanded access to main music libraries?

the only more or less adequate search is in the beatport, where we can select the genre, key, bpm, and then my tongue does not turn to say that this is a best resource to look for new music.

imagine what we could search in the library for spotify music,
for all parameters that api represent

    - Genre
    - Key
    - Mood
    - Bpm
    - Acousticness
    - Danceability
    - Energy
    - Instrumentalness
    - Liveness
    - Loudness
    - Valence of positive
    - Labels?

Therefore, having streaming services in dj programs is not so important for playing these tracks online. It is much more important to have an advanced search in a huge library of music with a lot of input for more precise searches.
As a suggestion: Traktor can contact Apple Music or Deezer and offer them such cooperation. At the same time, they may not worry about copyrights, for us it will be enough for us to preview versions of the tracks to find suitable ones.

Friends, I would like to suggest a Tool for Planning a mix. This Tool can be connected to the new type of playlist "Perfomance Playlist", which I wrote about in point 15.2

    What it is?
Imagine tagging hundreds or thousands of tracks in your library that sound good together. And you have connected these tracks using the "match" function.
After we have matched the tracks, visually it looks something like this
    upload_2020-9-30_4-1-6.png
Then, we say to Traktor "Hey, Traktor! Please create me combination with 4 tracks from" Track 3 ""
    upload_2020-9-30_4-1-40.png
In the Mix Creator, we can specify various other characteristics of the track, like bpm, energy levels, rating, genres
We also indicate how many tracks we need in the chain and the Traktor offers us various combinations, based on our database.
This Mix Creator can be made dynamic. This means that when we select different tracks in the browser, the Traktor will automatically propose all possible results.

This will allow DJs to more quickly create mixes, find the desired tracks, combinations, and also be able to compare which combination is most suitable for a given mix.

    Best,
    Pavel

First off - I'm a huge supporter of a means to document track combinations, and so far no one has succeeded in implementing anything holistic & intuitive, so this will be one of the future battle grounds between DJ software (imo after live Stem extraction/separation... seeing many do want/expect what VDJ & DJ Pro have pushed a few months ago in traktor/Serato/RB, who have not yet implemented this....).

Also, as much as I'd love a way to store matching tracks (Out from & in to as separate entities...), this needs to be planned & integrated as a well thought out approach & toolset, but, there's also more pressing matters...
    Namely, the priotities, for me:
    1. The foundation for everything: Metadata i/o (... - i.e. fix long standing issues [overwriting / mutating user metadata in various fields & container formats - it's a mess still!] & support of custom fields & multi value metadata)
    2. Overhaul the Browser, Browser Tree & SmartPlaylists to work with the above metadata i/o
    3. A metadata based approach to store in/out track matches (there's a lot of question for this how this could work.... data coventions i.e. based on UIDs and/or FileURLS, UI / Workflow Design, etc pp. This is a fairly complicated task to do well...)
    3b. Smart playlists & a suggestion system for user-documented-matches & system-suggested-matches

    My few cents.

yes, I perfectly understand what you mean. When I thought about this Mix Creator, I also thought about a deeper logic of how it would work.
To implement deeply and conveniently matching tracks, we need to take into account not matching 2 tracks, but combinations of 3-4 or more tracks so that it is usable for a DJ.
Therefore, I propose to make such a Mix Creator, which will help to compose various combinations of tracks in any number that the DJ specifies in the parameters.
It will be: Track Filter + Function Match + Special Performance playlist, which differs from the usual playlist in specific functions and is intended for mixes
I think - it will be a very useful tool if we combine all these things.

(imo after live Stem extraction/separation... seeing many do want/expect what VDJ & DJ Pro have pushed a few months ago in traktor/Serato/RB, who have not yet implemented this....).
To be honest, I tried live Stems in Virtual DJ, and it did not impress me at all, although this is probably due to the fact that I like more saturated genres and it is technically more difficult to separate tracks there.

    1. The foundation for everything: Metadata i/o (... - i.e. fix long standing issues [overwriting / mutating user metadata in various fields & container formats - it's a mess still!] & support of custom fields & multi value metadata)

What confuses me about the tagging system is that we cannot convey hot cues and grids, which makes this approach not very good for me, it would be nice if the companies would develop some one format like xml that would was compatible with all of each other, because as far as I understand, between existing audio formats this cannot be done in these audio formats themselves, and we have to take one abstraction above, which would unite all these different audio formats.

    3b. Smart playlists & a suggestion system for user-documented-matches & system-suggested-matches
As for system-suggested-matches, most programs are limited to suggested matches by key and bpm, which usually doesn't make any sense. I would prefer to have something like a Filter Track, as I drew in a previous post, where the DJ was able to tweak the parameters or characteristic intervals.
For example, DJ can says Hey, Traktor, make me a combination of 4 tracks with:
    - Energy level 3
    - Dynamics 2-3
    - BPM 123-126
    - In the genres Melodic Techno and Progressive House

Where in response, the Traktor showed all possible combinations from a given track in our library.
This approach would be more useful
