2. Add preview master deck.
There are situations when you play a track in the master deck and do not know where you want to mix.
The most famous way is to load the same track into a parallel deck and check płace for mixing.
In cdj 3000, this was done by touching the screen with a finger.
In a virtual DJ it works like a virtual sandbox.
No matter what mechanics you use, make it possible to preview the playing track on the master deck
3. Removing the cues.
Removing the cue is conveniently implemented in Serato and rekordbox with a cross on top, I think this is a more elegant solution than a separate button in the traktor.

4. Automatic hot cues placement.
I don't remember which version of "Mixed in Key" introduced the automatic hot cues feature, which I think is a very cool solution that speeds up the process of preparing tracks. Because in most cases, DJs put cues in the same places (I guess), it would be nice to see this in a Traktor as well.

5. Counting mixing time of playlists with help fade in/out cues
Add for cues (fade in, fade out) to the function so that the playlist time is counted from these cues. Those will be able to calculate the time of the playlists in a mixed state.

7. Add the ability to move / drag and drop hot cues after they are puted, as is done in Seto.
Sometimes it happens that we put 3-4 cues, and then we want to insert another one between them, and we should to delete all three in order to move because of one. This opportunity is only available in Serato, it would be nice to have it in Traktor too.
8. Change the view of the deck where the Loop, Beatjump, Cue functions are located next to each other
I like how it work on traktor controllers, but I do not like how this is implemented in the graphical interface, when we control the traktor with the mouse.

11. Loop Start/Loop End “Fades”.

Anyone that is familiar with Ableton Live will be familiar with Clip Fades. It’s the ability to add a short volume fade (automation) to the beginning and/or end of a clip. This avoids clips/pops/artefacts when looping the clip.
Could we get the equivalent of clip fades at the beginning and end of loops in Traktor? When setting a loop, sometimes we’ll get a hint of a word/note/hit that causes a “spike” in volume at the loop start/end point. Adding a fade in/fade out volume automation curve would stop this, allowing for cleaner loops…
12. Add a countdown time to the next hot cues
If you look at the waveform in the deck, the zoom scale for each track is different, so looking at the waveform, it is difficult to count the bars to the next part of the track, counting to the best hot cur would solve this problem in most cases.

13. Make a better cruise mode. Make sure that when auto-mixing, the tractor does not immediately remove the volume of the previous track, and that this transition is smoother.

17. To improve the function of fade in, fade out. (Skip Cue/ Cue go to/Cue Jump to)
This type of hot cues can be used for another useful function. If every track I put fade in and fade out, the total time of the playlist Traktor considers these
cues, not from the beginning or end of tracks, it will more clearly to prepare the mix and understand how much time has already been done, because
now is the time into the playlist shows just the total entire time of tracks, not in the mixed condition, which has no practical use.
This useful request began already in 2011, I also support this idea.
Hot cues and beatjump often do not operate cleanly, i.e. audible artifacts, especially in high dynamic music (trance, hard techno, etc.) or places that I
want to jump too different In volume or sound and it doesn't sound good.
I suggest making such a function for hot cues.when we can assign a function to the cue "jump to such a cue" with function as well as the volume curve
and traktor Pro 3 during the game, mix this two cues smoothly. This will give possible for DJs not using the DAW to edit tracks,
thereby making interesting versions of the tracks with different jumps, without the need to editin sequencer
this is different from ordinary mechanics, when we just manually click on the cue to move, the main thing here is to have a smooth volume attenuation,
this will allow mix long sections one's track
For this type of cues, two settings are needed
1. length in bars (2-4-8-16)
2. Volume threshold with which one segment goes into silence and the other increases the volume

18. The time scale/or simple Timer
Add a time line where we can monitor where in the mix we are, depending on the time set.
For example, a DJ plays the mix for 2 hours, he sets this time in the upper band. And the line shows where he is at the moment.
I noticed that some DJs look at time during the mix,
controlling the time and the mix, this would be a good tool that would make this method more convenient
We can also divide the mix into several parts for easy visual perception.

 

I don't buy the explanation that they don't allow you to change the cue colours because of "user confusion". That's nonsense.
If they were worried about user confusion, they wouldn't let you customise anything!

I haven't yet seen a convincing explanation from NI why they can't allow the colours to be customised. Surely, they haven't hard-coded them have they? :-|

I would like to be able to name the cuepoints. By for example, simply typing It on the "cuemarkbutton and then I get the name as a small flag with the name in the cue at the song. Same for loop names.

 

Sorry, I don't fully understand. Do you mean that you want to be able fast to type the name by clicking on the hot cue and after that name will be displayed on the waveform itself in the deck?

 

I wanna name the name the CUEPOIN. The CUEPOINT(or loop) 2 have a vocal that I whant to name, as a reminder of what It is. I what to be able to name it where the mouse is paced at nr 2. After namening It. It shows up as an named flagg at the Cue nr 2 in the song. I would like to name all the CUEPOINTS. Nr 1-8. For scaratching it would be even more usefull.

10. Add support for 16 Cues

 

I'd love to have a function to protect your saved CUEs from accidental deleting via shift/cue... maybe linking that aswell to the grid-lock function or having to hold TWO buttons like shift/deck to delete cues.

My tracks almost ALL look like this when I'm done with trackprep... eff**ng a done track up while testing new mappings or something similar really hurts - especially as you (I) tend to not notice until I want to play the track in a set

 

I don't think accidentally deleting cues is the problem? The shift already serves as a protection against deletion, no?

 

True, but same thing would equally be true for the grid - might aswell drop the lock function over there aswell

My point: I want to see that human being NOT making exactly the same experience when you try to get the grip using for example one of those multi-layered F1 mappings, where nearly every button has been remapped & there are quite a few modifiers being triggered via multi-button actions...

And I would gladly prefer holding 2 nearby buttons to get into destructive editing mode(s) than getting those loops wiped (undo maybe?!) by accidentally failing to remember that other function hidden behind some alt-mode buttton-combo...

 

I think it's important to keep a balance between ease of use and functionality, probably in this case, we need to lock the entire track with one click, which blocks
- grids
- cues
- tags

 

...which would be perfectly fine with me - given there's a quick&easy way to activate/deactive it via any controller... not into clicking around in Traktors GUI even more

At least there should be more colors, like 8 different colors. That way you can figure out some system for each CUE type, and once remembered you don't need to label them.

yes, I really miss color cues, this was my main way of marking in serato and rekordbox, I wrote this suggestion in the very first paragraph

 

I use combination of colors and numbers. like
1 - grid
2 - load (yellow)
4 - the place where I should remove the outgoing track and leave only this one (blue)
5-6 - skip part (colored with fade in/fade out)
7 - 1st place where i could exit the track (blue)
8 - usually beats only place, often a loop, that is nice to keep until finish the mix (green)

If you could ask for a feature in TRAKTOR, what would it be?

Often I’ll be mixing, and want to miss a breakdown for example, skip to a point further down the track. You can jump 16 or 32 bars, but sometimes you might want more. So that would be a good thing – automated jump feature of any length that you can preset, or do on the fly, to anywhere you choose in a track.
