I'm not really into cuban music so I won't get it.

It will probably end up in Komplete 10 Ultimate anyways :D

2014 more likely, Komplete 9 was out January this year. It will be at least a year before new Komplete.

    REAPER Two questions

Hi ED, I read the Manual of Reaper - compared to PT Manual I´d say it´s a little better, of course, one can not comprehend everything immediately in the beginning.
But there are two important things for me as for a daw:
PT has follwing track types: Audio, Midi (only for Midi rec and Play) you can use a Midi-Track only in combination with an Instrument-Track. With an Instrument-TRack you can choose a Plug-in-Instrument that you wanna rec with Midi. And Auxiliary-Tacks !
Auxiliary Input tracks can be used as effects sends, destinations for submixes,
as a bounce destination, as inputs to monitor or process audio (such as audio from
external MIDI instruments), and for many other audio routing tasks.
I have found no Information about Aux tracks in Reaper or something similar. For me it is very important to use Aux-Tracks in order to choose different send / return effects that I can apply for Audio or Instrument-tracks.
I have hardware devices, e.g. TC Electronic Reverb with digital SPDIF in and out and with my M-Audio Interface I could use it with DIG IN and OUT Settings and Routings in PT, can I do that in Reaper, too ? I want to use my TC as send/return reverb.

Sync via Midi MTC or Word Clock is important for me, too. I need my daw to be slave.

I do not only want to talk bad about PT, but there are many things to complain about, first and foremost it´s not stable and many things are much too complicated, not user-friendly.

Ok, after 30 min. checking some plugins of NI, I must admit that working with Reaper is much faster than with PT and I had no error Messages ! And you have different pan modes - just great ! But I do not understand why I can select KONTAKT as Instrument with 64, 16 or 8 Outs and Battery 3 only with 32 Outs ?

Reaper does NOT have track types - any track can be an instrument track, or an audio track, or a MIDI track, or a send, or a receive. OR ALL AT THE SAME TIME. It's very flexible.

But, please, register to Reaper forums if you want to discuss more. NI forums aren't exacly the place for this. :)

Regarding plugin output differences between Kontakt and Battery - there's nothing you can do about it, they are coded like that. Battery gives you up to 32 outputs, Kontakt up to 64. They are made to work like that.

In fact, I only ever use 64-out version of Kontakt. I delete other DLLs.

    NI KONTAKT Galaxy Vintage D

That´s what Galaxy Vintage D sounds like - not too bad. Chopin Galaxy Vintage D on YouTube.

The pieces played show the character of Vintage D and reverb of Kontakt in a very satisfying way.
Especially the piece starting at 1:34.

What about an actual DJ plugin?
    Like a Traktor DJ.
For a producer: you could bounce part of the track you created in you DAW then pull up a dj plugin and remix it up on the fly. In a Daw you can also record you dj performance as automation to manipulate even further. As a plugin the workflow would be fast and can be save in the session. Just an idea.

    Mastering Plugins

A mastering toolkit plugin would be nice, something like WAVES´ L2 ultramaximizer; C6 multiband compressor and linear phase EQ and very important: an analyzing tool that first and formemost is able to show average RMS of a track (like in Steinberg Wavelab; I mean an analyzing tool that could give you all important information (Peaks, average, RMS etc.) of a complete track by showing the results in figures.
