...a full month to consider whether to complete the orchestra or not...:rolleyes::confused::rolleyes:o_Oo_Oo_O

@FrankieFilth - was also trying the Circuit serveral times - and also the Korg Electribe. It's quite nice playing around with them, but in no way as powerful and flexible as Maschine and a VST synth. So I wondered, if I might be even more dissatisfied like a majority here is with Maschine (i.e., "you can't do anything with it"). Have you tried one or the other yourself?

I pulled the trigger to upgrade from the SELECT that came with JAM and Maschine Studio. I was waiting for that, based on the spreadsheet we all love. Only one license though, wouldn´t make a lot of sense to have two of those, would it? Took me about 30 secs between getting the mail and ordering :D

I ordered yesterday as soon as I saw the NI email. No regrets here but for some ordering today, JRR Shop is 10% off and Guitar Center has a 16% off special (may be their shopping points included)

According to the last years, sales are usually in the summer (which is the one now :) ) and at the end of a year.
But you'll never know beforehand which products will be included in which sale ...

Bit the bullet and bought Symphony strings and woodwinds. Now i have all 3 for £200, which isn't too shabby (even if they're not the best libraries on the market).

If anything I might go that route...no time for tinkering right now (it's the summer season here), but fun to have for down time later on.

@loachm, I actually haven't had a chance to try anything out.. basically just going off of reviews and videos. Obviously not ideal but, as I'm in Austria now, I don't even know of a place to go and check stuff out.

The fact that something like the Circuit is so limiting is a big part of what's pushing me to go that route. I've come to realize that, for me, the magnitude of choices with Maschine & Komplete is just too much; I'm too indecisive for that. Although, if I don't get Maschine sold in the next few weeks, I will upgrade from K9 to K11 anyway because I'm a whore .

I haven't been musically satisfied in quite some time now so, I thought I might just switch up my whole approach and see where it leads me. There's definitely a fair chance that I'll end up regretting it but, I think it's a risk I have to take at this point. Limitations aside, I'm also really keen on the form factor and portability of Circuit. All in all, it just seems like such a fun, inspiring and immediate creative outlet, which is what I really need at this point. I'm so over trying to be serious about making music :).

I'm also looking a bit into the Electribe, Digitakt and Beatstep Pro (hybrid approach with Logic Pro X until I can get some hardware synths too). I think I would love the Digitakt but, as I've decided to move back to the US after another year or so, I won't pay $200 more for it here.

I have a blast with the iELECTRIBEs and been eyeballing the beat step pro as well. But the more I play around with logic the more I believe it can cover a lot of ground. I imagine the beat step pro would be a blast with the Minitaur and Karp!

Wish me luck, let's hope it doesn't get installed all over the random place!

You can set the installation path in the settings of access.

As puzzlefactory mentioned, make sure to check the paths in the Native Access Preferences before doing the installation ...

    And good luck :)

I have always just installed to the default location set up in service center and now native access. I downloaded the thrill samples but need to read up because I have never installed samples before, Doh! I guess it's time to step up my learning and work outside my comfort zone.

It will go better than you think. I have had one or two issues overall with product updates in Native Access but for the most part things have gone smoothly. Like others have mentioned, getting your paths right initially will save a few headaches later.

Well K11 is mine, I have always said I would not spend more with NI except of maybe Kontakt and reactor but this sale is a no brainer to get what I want and some. Now the long wait for downloads. To date I have had no problems with Native Access and I sure hope I didn't just jinks myself.

...yeah, I get that and, in fact, that's why I have been looking at Circuit, too - something to make music just for fun and not using something that will make the whole thing turn into work. But that's probably the thing with music production - it'll turn into work at a certain point, no matter what. But just because I guess, Circuit might not work for me (i.e. doing the work of transfering things into the computer where all music ends), doesn't of course mean it wouldn't work for you.

Circuit is still attractive for me, if it could work as a midi controller/sequencer and I think, the new update has brought some changes on the midi side (but need to look into that). But anyway, it's just two synths and two drum/sample players and I'm sort of looking into creating a small template in Maschine to be able to work in a similar way - something I can use intuitively without thinking and without using the mouse. I'm looking at Blocks for the synth parts and it takes a bit building and mapping the instruments, but I'm still confident, with that I might get what I want. If I manage to pull it off and if you're interested, I'd be happy to share it with you.

...it works pretty good - I used it on a new computer installing Komplete, Maschine, Expansions and the Brass and the String library and after a few hours everything was there and where it should be. You just start it and tell it what to install and then you don't need to do anything - it's very smooth. The only downside atm, you can't download update, only install them, but that may change in the future, if I remember correctly.

Not the cleanest solution, but If you need to hold on to update files for future use, you can probably launch the update via Native Access and then copy the update executables from your download location to another directory while the update is being installed.

Anyone else get an endless voucher from NI for doing the upgrade? I did. It won't go away! It'll expire in December, though.

Thanks, man! I was actually thinking of doing something similar, if I end up hanging on to Maschine. Although it's not the ultra-portable solution I've been dreaming of, that's one way to minimize any unnecessary work for some unadulterated fun.
I've spent a lot of time today, imagining ways to make better use of Maschine and/or Logic for my current needs and I'm beginning to lean toward keeping what I have, even if it ends up getting much less use eventually. I've got a few other things that could fund a small hardware setup, if I can manage to sell them, so I might just have to wait a little longer for Circuit. Need a Roland SPD-SX? ;)
