Summing Up 2015 Suggestions

Ok so after going through a lot of posts on what features maschine users are suggesting, I am putting it here altogether for your convenience NI. I hope this will not be a wasted effort. If you see, the list below puts so much more intelligence in the software. Right now maschine is good for someone just starting out, but is very hard to integrate it in a lot of producer's existing workflows. You will have to adapt better to a more diverse working styles.. These are some very core requirements. People feel free to add more.

1. Auto Save.

2. Use of holding down Shift, Shift + Ctrl for different edit tools.

3. Adding and deleting note with the pencil and eraser are two extremes. There is something in between called muting. So a mute tool (can be a X) to mute notes, modulator automations. And curve tools to draw automations.

4. Link and choke are two extremes. How about ducking? Because side chain compression isn't exactly volume automation which ducking is. So maybe one knob and percentage of ducking.

5. Link, choke and duck any sound from any group with any sound from any group.

6. Bars and beats grid in the sample editor.

7. patterns draggable to different scenes in the scene arranging section.

9. FX bypass automation.

10. Auto Wr. On without the pressing Shift

11. Atleast 35 undos and redos irrespective of if Ctrl + S was pressed or not.

12. Ability to write automation with 3rd party controllers. Automation v/s modulation?

13. Round Robin.

14. Ability to input more than one pattern in a scene and thus making scene stitching possible. i.e combining multiple scenes into one scene (Please get rid of this rigidness)

15. Batch delete unused patterns. (For a clean up)

16. Batch rename patterns and scenes in an order. Once I am done with a track where say Scene 3 is next to Scene 9 is next to Scene 5 and so on.. I should be able to resolve the naming into a new clean order. 1st scene gets renamed Scene 1, 2nd gets renamed Scene 2 and so on.. All in a batch. Same with patterns.
Or if you want to make something rigid here it is - visually the scenes which look 1st, 2nd 3rd,4th so on, should by default get names scene 1,2,3,4. Say if i drag scene 30 in the scene 3 spot it should become scene 3. Visually 3rd - Scene 3, visually 4th - Scene 4.

17. While loading Kits/Groups, Instruments, give an option to retain the current group and sound settings and routings. None of my group/sound routings should change unless i specify. Can be like the button you have to load a kit with or without patterns. A button to load with or without settings.

18. Why is there an ever present end locator? Need an option to always keep an end locator like it is now, or to have a free timeline. Also a time based timeline. Maybe between the scene names and bars and beats timeline. (Get rid of this rigidness too)

 

19. Copy and paste automation data

20. Multiple parameters assignable to macro controls

21. Control over the BPM even as a vst. who said my host and maschine vst should have the same tempo. they can be half, double, odd.

 

Some of these are so important and I would really like to hear someone from NI at least acknowledge that they agree and are planning in incorporating them and how they plan to do it

 

DAW integration so I can use the excellent NI sounds without having to use their half baked kiddie sequencer. My Maschine Mk2 is going into the closet and I am getting a Push 2. Since I cannot sell the Maschine without losing a ton of money, I guess I must wait until NI get's their act together.

@dysanfel I feel your pain as I'm in the same boat as you...When I realised I was tied to Maschine to keep my ultimate collection it was to late, trapped !
I have a s61 ( which is great btw ) but NI refuses to transfer the crossgrade on it so I can get rid of Maschine... Tbh I'm thinking more and more about selling all Maschine tied products in a nice discounted package...What keeps me waiting though is this guy @shaduzlabs...You should check his work...
