    Hi,

Does Maschine support MIDI FX/Plugins? For example, external arps, chords, pitch fx etc? I'd like to use Reactor blocks with Maschine. Audio FX are working fine, like filters and distortnios. But how I can route MIDI fx like Reactor sequencer, random note etc?

If you want to use Blocks' sequencer etc. to control other plug-in's parameters, then you're out of luck, as there is no way for Reaktor (in plug-in form) to access a virtual midi port, which is needed for that purpose. If you want to stay inside the Blocks's system, you can route the signals, as they're audio data - but you can't access all of Reaktor's Inputs. You can also use Reaktor in standalone mode and sync it with Maschine via Link. Then you can access a virtual midi port to send data over to Maschine. And you can use the Maschine controller in Midi Mode to map the Blocks controls, if you want to do everything with the Maschine controller. I suppose, this third option might be the preferred way for you.

I managed to use some midi sequencers like Spiral from reaktor into Maschine without issue.
It is not very intuitive indeed but doable... A shame as NI products should get along well together...
Let's hope Maschine 3.0 will put all that behind and fix it all....

...with a virtual midi cable or inside a DAW? Otherwise, please tell.:):)

Argh... Still in the middle of my removal but after few complaints on that forum I remember spending few nights testing all that and I got it to work... When my studio is back on I'll try to forward few tips...

    Hi

You can use VstBoard with Maschine in order to use MIDI Plugins. It is kind of a host-in-host System:

    https://sourceforge.net/projects/vstboard/files/

Crazy stuff but it works and it is free. Just a flaw that it resets windows zoom levels on 4k displays.

    regards

    Hi

yes it works okay. Sometimes it crashes but in general i can work with it. I use it in order to freely assign chords to pads.A thing which i used tonespace and virtualmidi for. But tonespace is limited in chord combinations (eg C - Am7 - G7 wouldnt work). These are all just workarounds for missing functionality in Maschine. I want to combine chords with drum sounds on one group. This could quite so easy to implement from NI sides if chords could be assigned to single pads.

    regards
    Michael

just in case you didn't know, haven't tried it before: load FL Studio VST inside Maschine...that way you'll have unlimited freedom in "audio-clip-placement" and so on. fl's fantastic playlist just synchs easily with your maschine project ;-)

You lose all the auto mapped knobs while using that... right?

    Hi

Yes this is right. You can still automate, bur have to manually map your automation parameters. Because Maschine doesnt know any insights about the plugins inside IL Minihost

what you could try (for me, because i am lazy): couldn't you just use minihostmodular.dll to contain the midi-fx (chordz) and then send the generated midi straight back into maschine?...does minihostmodular shows up as an available "midi-input-source"? (probably not...but would help to not have to manually remap parameters from the used VSTi's ....)...
