To clarify it simply for you:
1. You can sort by whatever you want on the D2 —> just select the sort option/order on Traktor Pro, because your D2 will mirror that order

2. if you want to sort by something specifically which isn’t selectable through the D2 “sort order” knob/overlay, you can edit the QML to specifically enable one category. For example, you could add to sort by Comment 2.
Otherwise, from the D2 knob/screen, I believe that you’ll currently only be able to select the following options:
-#
-Title
-Artist
-Album? (Not sure)
-BPM
-Key
-Key Text
-Comment?
-Genre?
-Release date?

3. You can’t see any other information aside from the one already visible on the D2 browser. This means that, for example, if you sort by genre, the list order will be correct, but you won’t see any reference to the genre of each track of your D2s.

I hope this clarifications help you to understand what I originally meant!

One more question if I may, why can't we display other informations but track title, bpm and key, since the controller receives artist ...
Also independent browser is not working for my controller D2, changing it in settings have no impact, both controllers can display browser window, and displays the same thing.

Tu put it simple, the controller receives the following information regarding metadata:

A. The complete metadata of tracks loaded in Decks A-D.

B. A “simplified version” of the tracks that are on the current Traktor’s browse active playlist/node.
This simplified version only includes a few tags + extra Traktor information (track loaded in preview player?, for example)).

Regarding independent browsers, it’s a feature meant for the S5/S8, which allows/prevents users from having both screens opened with the Browser View.
Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to achieve communication between devices, so far, this means that a D2 can’t communicate with another D2 or S5/S8/D2 and send it it’s “state” properties (Hardware Browser opened/closed).

And just to clarify, there can’t be two or more different instances of the Browser on your controllers (two screens showing different nodes of the browser with full independency), at least in Traktor Pro 3.5 and below. This remains true not only for NI hardware, but also for CDJs/XDJs in HID mode, and it’s because of the way the software (Traktor Pro) currently works.

We CAN display the artist name, it’s one of the few things that are possible to display (and it’s visible by default, of course)

A few hours ago I posted a new update on Patreon with full (specific) support for 3.5+ versions and/or 3.3-3.4.2 versions.

Also note that the S2 MK3 is now fully supported, which means that you can use (and customize) many of the "mapping" features that my mod includes (pads modes, vinyl break, etc.) on this portable device too (I still need to make a PDF with the S2 MK3 controls, I’m aware)

 

HI there, thank you for this MOD. I have followed your instructions deleting and saving the qlm files to my desktop then copying your files listed in your Mac instructions. Traktor feels like it wants to open but doesn't. Hope you can help.

 

Thr instructions are rather outdated! You have to copy / replace all the folders inside the mod folder. This also includes :
-Settings folder
-Helpers folder

 

Thanks for getting back to me. Ive copied them all into the folder CSI, Defines, Helpers, Preferences and Screens. Traktor has started, ill hook up my S8 later and see if all good. Thanks for your work.

 

Hey Aleix Jiménez great work you’ve done btw. One thing I have noticed. When I turn bass, mids or high knobs the wave form flickers. I appreciate if elements have been taken away or toned down the wave form will change but I would prefer no flickering. What’s your thoughts?

 

I deleted the folders and re added, all seems to be working ok now.

 

I also noticed a flickering on my d2, but when I connect pioneer 2000nxs2 flickers off.
And also wanted to ask to add a hint for tracks that are close in tempo bpm in the browse folder

 

Sounds like it might be cool. Not $6 per month cool, so I guess I will never know. The free ones on github are good too.

 

hi, very big mod, top quality! i have add only one thing, and could be add in future? i have S8 controller and use ‘Traktor Mod Screens’, i have add in ‘livedeck’ and ‘remixdeck’ 4 fx unit squares, that are in ‘trackdeck’….and in ‘remixdeck’ i have add loop symbol (circle with number inside) too

 

There sure are lot of people thanking this guy for selling this thing for a monthly Patreon subscription. Are you all seriously OK with paying a monthly subscription for a different screen layout one time? It's not like you can even download it to try it without paying him. On most forums, selling related content would be frowned upon. I find this strange and disturbing...

Then again, I still don't understand why anyone would pay money every month to Spotify and not get to keep any of the music. A fool and his money are soon parted I guess. Maybe the concentration of new fools is high enough now that I should consider building things like this as well? It would be a simple matter to fork the ones on Github...

If you unsubscribe you keep the mod. There really is no reason to argue. Spotify is something different so the comparison is not adequate. If you take a peek at the code you know you have the product of a lot of good and hard work. Showing support for it by paying a reasonable amount to a person you can talk to no less is pretty cool. Everyone is a fool to someone.

I totally understand that you don't like the subscription approach, but let me explain a few things to you:

A. It's not a minor modification
The mod doesn't only modify the screens of your controllers, also their behaviour. It changes so many things that I can't even list them here. It's like having a completely different controller, even a MK2 version of your controller. It's like a major "firmware" update. You even get menus within the controller to modify how it behaves and what is displayed. It's mind-blowing what this mod does, to be honest. I'm not saying it as its developer, but rather as one more user of this mod.

B. I don't work for free.
I don't know about you, but I like to be paid when I dedicate time to a certain project. I love DJing, and fortunately for many NI product owners, I also love coding and getting involved in new projects.
Almost 3 years ago, I started with a small project which, BY THEN, was available for free on GitHub for anyone to download it. But eventually, due to the progress I was making and the effort I was putting on it, I decided to charge a symbolic amount to be compensated for my efforts, which, as far as I'm concerned, is reasonable. You only need to read user's feedback, by the way.

C. Nobody forces you to use this mod
You don't need to install this mod in order to make your hardware work, you can stick with the original screens & mapping, or use a free mod, if any.

D. You GET to keep the MOD after unsubscribing.
Once you download the mod files, they are yours forever.
However, if you want to use the latest version, you must be subscribed to my patreon channel. My updates may include few tweaks + bug fixes, new features or some other bigger improvements, or even address incompatibility with the latest Traktor version. Whichever it is, nobody forces you to resubscribe to my Patreon channel. You updated to the latest version and the mod isn't working? You can downgrade to the prior Traktor version, or you can use the default mapping + screens, or you can subscribe again to Patreon.

With all due respect, I believe that charging 5€/month (or whichever is the conversion to your currency (managed by Patreon)) is a more than fair option, considering everything it offers, but especially considering that I also have to pay a monthly fee for being a freelancer (60€/month, for now. It will soon increase to more than 100€)) + my taxes.

To summarise, after taxes and all that legal things I must pay (Patreon fees (Platform + Currency Fees) + Freelance Spanish “tax” + taxes) I’m getting a monthly profit of around 350€…
If you even transform this to hours with an exemplary rate of 10€/hour (EXTREMELY low rate for software developers) —> 35hours/month. I can assure you I do WAY more hours than 35h/month..

 

I don't understand what you are saying, unfortunately.. The FX indicators are always visible on the Live Deck, aren't they?
