I’m trying to make my Traktor S8 work as a complete Traktor Controller, to make it work as i want, taking the Traktor S8 to the next level, as it was (and is) supposed to be! Working a lot and really hard to make this possible, but little by little getting there!

I'm working on it, i'm planning to release it, or at least a "beta" of this major update by tomorrow. However, on thursday i'm leaving for holidays until the 28th of April and i won't be able to work on this till then. But i would like to share a "beta" of this so that you get to say me what it works and what it doesn't!

 

Still not possible, that's one of the things that i'm working on! Probably tomorrow i'll post the update!

So hey everyone, here it is a BETA VERSION of the Suprem Edition 2.0!
First of all, if you find any bug, report it! I’ll be on vacations for 2 weeks, so i won’t be able to fix it until then, but it would be cool to alreay know everything ehich doesn’t work! Refer to the first publication to see the bugs i’m aware of!
Second of all, preferences can be modified with a text editor on the file which is on: qml\screens\defines\preferences.qml
Third thing, from the Traktor S8 you can modify certain settings, some of them have been implemented and some others not, it’s a beta version and still work in progress! I’ll try to make it more personalizable as time goes by!
And as a last thing to take in consideration, if a setting is modified through the Traktor S8, it won’t modify the Preferences.qml file, which means that anytime that you start Traktor, you have to modify it ON EACH SIDE, if not they work independently, I still need to work on this!
The other option is to modify the Preferences.qml file, and that will be the “default” settings! I’m still working on the Beats x Phrase Setting for example, and the Beat Counter.

I'll try to update this post to explain the news about this BETA VERSION, certain bugs and other things! You'll see when this has been updated!

Hey, i was just reading the post and realized i forgot to explain how to modify settings from the traktor S8!
You just have to press Shift + Switch View button (the button near the displays)! I’ll try in the future to make it work with the screen settings button, but haven’t suceeded with that one yet!
Is there any major bug or thing which doesn’t look like working?
I’ll be back in 5 days, and will get back on it for the major and definitive V2.0 release!

ive been using the 2.0b mods for a little while now and am really liking the new functionality, amazing work!

while testing, ive seen some issues and noticed some possible room for enhancements.

questions -
can the mixerfx be assigned to individual decks? the decks are listed, but how are the decks assigned?
when the mixerfx is enabled, the initial percentage is quite high, can it be adjusted before marked as 'on'?
in the freeze area (non-shift), the functionality seems different based on 1 press vs 2, can you explain?

issues -
the new pref window has opened only once; is there a trick to opening these preferences?

enhancements -
i would love to have the bar count changed to countdown to the next marker, is that possible?
is it possible to replace the 'clock' line to show the count-up from last marker?
any plans for the remix button?
mod like other forum post; touch-bar/scratch functionality. ive paired with a couple denon dns3700s, sometimes its an overkill to switch to those decks for a quick scratch.
preferences for (filters, fx, sync) on by default on traktor startup

ive worked with midi mapping and traktor since the linux days, so let me know if you need help testing. the S8 in a studio where i can mess with early code releases.

In theory, when you press FX Select (or Shift + FX Select, can't remember right now), a Mixer FX Panel should appear. If you turn the Browser Encoder, you'll be modifying the MixerFX selected for the Active Deck of tht Screen. If you want to set that specific MixerFX to all 4 decks, you just have to push the Browser Encoder and all 4 decks will be set to the MixerFX that appears on the MixerFX Panel. As for the initial percentage, no clue. In theory nothing has been modified of that, MixerFX amount is only controlled by the 4 Filter Knobs on the Mixer of the Traktor S8, as normally.

No idea why, should take a look though, but i haven't really messed up with the freeze mode really, does anyone else have this issue too? which is the different behaviour by the way?

In theory, the Prefs Panel should open when you press Shift + Screen Button 5 (the switch deck view//close panel button), have you replaced the whole qml folder by the way? if not, maybe make a bakcup and try replacing the whole folder and let me know!

For the count changed, sure it's possible despite that as of now it's not on my to-do list, but will be probably in the future, i think that Nick Moon has done this so it shouldn't be difficult to make this possible!
I've also thought of implementing the Loop In/out position modifier, how would you do it by the way? Maybe in the Loop Mode with Shift + Loop In/Out when Loop is Active? or at anytime, no matter if it is active or not?
As for the Remix Button, i don't have any plan as of now, however it's true that i will do some more work on Remix Decks as soon as i finish certain things on which i am working right now! More or less all the things that i'll try to implement are on the first publication of this MOD in Orange Colour!
And finally, for the quick switching feature, as i said on another forum, it's already been added to my to-do list!

Remember that despite that this is my MOD release, there are some features that we've achieved with Nick Moon, who will be releasing his 2.0 Mod version the sooner he can, so thank him too!!! We're working as hard as we can to implement diffrent features on each one's MOD, each one has its own priorities, but some things wouldn't have been possible without him!

 

Нello Aleix! freeze mode does not work. The pads light up in pink and nothing happens when pressed. and another question for you. How can I change the browser from the mod Nick Moon in a mod?

 

Pads lightning in Pink is normal, it will be a Special Mode which i’m still working on, it will be a Quick Effect triggered with Pads, just like in Pioneer Controllers! I think you should be able to enter regular freeze Mode with Shift + Feeze button! Sorry about that, though! As i said, that’s a Beta Version and there may be issues, thinks which don’t work properly or unfinished things, but i released it so that you could have a taste of the multiple things that we are preparing for our 2.0 Releases with Nick and all the thinggs that we have achieved until now!
