Surround sound with convolution

I had this setup, two samples in one instrument, each in a different group, each group has a surround panner applied in the group insert fx.

When I put a surround sound convolution into the send effects, it would not work, it sounded like the convolution got only applied to the center and the possibly also the surround right channel.

When I put the same surround sound convolution into the insert effects instead, then it worked as expected.

Does anyone know why?

I've just stumbled upon this as well. Is it a bug? Seems to me as the convolution applied in the send is only stereo, even though I have a 6 channel IR file loaded.

Anyone?

 

When loading a 6 channel wav into the Convolution Send I get a little warning sign in the upper right corner of the convolution module. Loading the same 6 channel wav file into the Convolution Insert renders no warning sign. What might this be? Something wrong with the send buss?
