Howdy, I've just installed Komplete on my Mac and I notice some of the plugins (e.g Guitar Rig 5) are installed in AU format rather than VST. Is it possible to change this so that all of the plugins are in VST format instead?

You should have both available. In the preferences for Mashine and Komplete Kontrol you can choose to ignore the AU versions with a check list

In Komplete Kontrol you will not find the above option as it does not support AU at all.

If you have not installed the VST version you can do an uninstall and then reinstall paying attention to the option to install the VST version. Keep in mind if you have created projects in a DAW using AU plugins tho, these will not simply work with VST versions, you need to have both installed.

Unless you are a hard core Logic user (that rudely does not support VST) then it is highly recommended to install and use VST versions of everything over AU as VST is supported by almost every program and operating system and allows projects created on Mac to easily be loaded on PC while AU is Mac only.

Thanks both for getting back to this thread (and sorry about the delay in reply), tI went looking for that on the advice of the above post and other similar posts online and couldn't find anything in Komplete Kontrol, but makes sense now.

However, I installed everything using Native Access and the installation was automatic, I wasn't presented with the option of installing a VST version, it just downloads then installs through the Native Access client. Is there a way round this to do a manual install?

    Many thanks :)

On mac, probably not. macOS thinks it knows best when it comes to where files are placed and who are we to question this. Customisability and free choice isn't what you use a mac for so it will be in the default location that mac has designated
