i play both regular vinyl and timecoded one, but always doing the switching with touchpad isn't very comfortable.

how is it possible to make a keyboard shortcut so when i press the button a specific deck would toggle between "direct thru" and "enable deck" modes.

it doesn't actually have to toggle. if one button would set it to direct thru and other button to timecoded vinyl mode, it would be just great.

i've searched all over the net and tried to create a mapping myself, but to no avail.

    :(

well i don't understand where exactly can i do it and how. i messed around in the "mixer -> set input" area and yes i tried assigning for example ctrl+q to toggle input for deck a.

thanx for replying. looked awesome and wanted to get into action, but then realized that i have 2 ch mixer instead of 4 and traktor 6 instead of 10 :p.

i guess there is also an option to fetch myself a pair of multicore cables so i can switch between modes via mixer (line in & phono switch)?

Still no keyboard shortcut available for this function?

Surely this is a very basic requirement.

To be honest, I was shocked to find that normal records were not recognised automatically.

Normal record support seems to be a bit lacking. I know I can use piggyback/multicore cables, but that removes the ability to record easily.

Can this actually be mapped, and if so how?

If you sell the interface with normal (not multicore) cables, you should be able to switch input in the software... With a hotkey.

The Audio 10 should ship with its own multicores. FFS its a £500 interface, thats not exactly cheap as soundcards go...

When i upgraded to TSP2, i sold off my old kit including multicores!

Now, to listen to vinyl, i have to start up my computer each time and change the soundcard settings. Its completely took away the pleasure of using vinyl which is the whole reason i use turntables in the first place!

But the problem is then you can't record your old proper vinyl using the internal mix recorder.

Yes you can. You can still switch the deck to live input and record.

I know you can, but thats what this thread is all about - the actual method of switching... Its fiddly and should be either automatic or possible via a keyboard shortcut.

It is possible by a shortcut (feel free to read the thread again)

Alternatively you could just buy a certified mixer.

Yes. There is a mappable function called deck flavour selector. Map a key and set to direct and set the deck to the one you want. Map another key to set it back.

i actually ended up selling traktor and now been using regular vinyl only for months. and i don't regret it a bit. i managed to map something with this flavor, but ...nvm anymore.

no more laptops, no usb cables, no traktor crashes, lengthy boot times, consistency checks, updates, looking at a computer screen, configurating.... 5 seconds and i'm ready to mix. will buy cdj-s to mix digital somewhere in the future, but no traktor or serato ever again...brr :)
